~Danny's Hero~
"Jack?"
"Danny?" Jack peered at him over the top of his newspaper, a small frown marking his displeasure at being drawn away from the sports pages.
"Who is Hawkman?"
Jack shrugged, pushed up his reading glasses, and took up the article from where he'd been interrupted. "Not a clue, but that doesn't look like homework to me."
"It is. It's comic book week at school and we each have to choose a superhero. I've chosen Hawkman."
"Hence the comic book. Okay, but why chose a superhero you haven't heard of? Why not Superman, Batman, or my personal favorite – Homerman."
Danny chuckled. "Homer wasn't a superhero!"
"Say's who?"
"Me. And besides, I like Hawkman, he reminds me of Daniel."
"Right, some imagination you have there, kid. Don't be telling Daniel will you, his ego doesn't need anymore nurturing then it already gets from that Vala woman."
Scrambling to his knees, Daniel scooped up his comic book and wandered over to the breakfast table. "Why don't you like Vala? She's funny."
"Didn't say I don't like her, squirt."
"But you said-"
"I said she likes to make your uncle Daniel feel good. Don't make it into something its not."
"Ohhhhh," Danny crowed.
"What?"
"Vala likes Daniel. Daniel and Vala sitting in a tree K.I.S.S-"
"Daniel Jackson O'Neill!"
"I'm only teasing, Jack."
"Well, don't. It's childish."
Danny returned smugly, "I'm a child."
"What were we talking about before Vala interrupted us?" Jack tried to get the conversation back on track.
"This." Daniel turned the comic book around to face Jack and tapped on one of the images.
Jack's brows shot up and he dropped the newspaper to his lap in favour of the comic book. The resemblance was more than just coincidence. The cut of the jaw, color of the eyes, the way he stood with his hands planted on his hips, and a small pout on his lips. "That's!"
"Told you." Danny nodded fervently.
"But, how can-?"
"I don't know."
"It's Daniel!"
