Immortal
The word live means nothing to me,
I am caught in a world that will not release me,
I am simply,
Immortal.
Humanity says they wish to live forever,
But when they do what will they see?
I have lived an immortal life,
And nothing to me is real.
Decades, centuries and years have passed me,
All lost in a blink of my eye.
Many say they wish to live forever,
While I do not.
I wish for a mortal life,
In which I can live with freedom,
To love and beloved is more important to me than life itself.
Alas I am not,
So I must make do,
Wandering through the ages,
Alone but not forgotten.
Numerous humans have tried to capture my immortality,
And all have failed,
When the time comes,
The world will fall,
And I will be the only one left.
I am bound to this Earth,
Whether it lives or it dies,
I will still be here.
