Disclaimer: I own nothing.

This story is weird (please don't flame it). I was thinking about the way that Pakkun talks, and thought "wow, he would make a great therapist!". I was also inspired by the song "Plea from a cat called virtue" by the Weakerthans.

Reviews would be seriously appreciated, they make Ghosto-chan very, very happy!

"You really shouldn't have done that".

Kakashi spun around, ready for an attack, but only saw Pakkun sitting on his couch. He contemplated leaving the room, telling the dog to shut up, or simply locking Pakkun in one of the many animal cages that were in his apartment, but decided that he was too tired to listen to Pakkun whine about any of these things; so he simply let it slide.

"Done what?"

Kakashi walked over to the couch and sat down, unceremoniously dumping his ANBU armor next to it in a heap. It had been a tough mission, and he was tired. He had spent the entire day hunting down a dangerous missing-nin, finding him, and killing him.

"You know what I'm talking about. You outright rejected that girl who asked you out yesterday; you know that someday, there will be no girl to reject! She'd have moved on without you…"

Kakashi sighed, his dog really could both annoying and very nosey sometimes.

"Shut up Pakkun"

The room was completely silent for a good ten minutes or so. Kakashi simply stared off into space, thinking about anything but what Pakkun had just said.

"I seriously mean it — one day you're going to have pushed everyone away, and you'll be all alone with your bitterness and anger and-"

Kakashi turned abruptly, and looked Pakkun in the eye.

"Shut up and leave me alone, I don't need your dumb advice."

Pakkun simply sat there with his sad puppy dog eyes trained to Kakashi. He could smell his master's anger, and it only made him angry.

"You just proved me right, you are permanently angry, you have been since Obito, the fourth and Rin died. You don't get close to anyone, because you're terrified of the pain that it would cause you if you were to lose them"

Kakashi stared at the pug, anger evident on his mask less face. Pakkun spoke again.

"You should try getting some Gennin students, or at least make some real friends. Come to think or it, being around some kids might be good for you, you could maybe teach them not to make the same mistakes that you have… either way Kakashi, you need to get up off your ass and do something, something that's actually worth doing, instead of simply running around doing the Hokage's dirty work."

Kakashi got up and left the room, swearing to himself that for the next few days, he was going to forget to put food in Pakkun's boll.

Kakashi stood watching Naruto, Sakura and Sasuke train.

And he smiled.

"Damned dog gives some pretty good advice sometimes"
