Squid

---

Hagrid could not help but wonder as he sauntered to the edge of the lake.

Can squids eat human food?

This particular squid that slumbered at the depth of the lake was docile enough. Surely, it was a vegetarian or it would have eaten one of the many students that fell into the lake.

Not that he wanted to see any of the students get eaten…

Bubbles were rising to the surface of the placid lake, a signal that the squid in question would be appearing.

He looked around, as he placed his giant hand in one of the many pockets of his moleskin coat. No one could possibly (besides Filch) stumble upon him; everyone was inside, classes were in session - he was free to do anything.

"'ell then, start with the simpler food." He muttered to himself, as he watched the surface ripple as the watery beast neared.

Taking hold of the square form of food, he carefully pulled it out at precise moment the pinkish, beautiful creature made its presence.

The squid's lidless black eyes stared right at Hagrid.

"'orning to ya."

It wiggled a tentacle.

"Brought 'omething for ya." Hagrid said, showing him a piece of toast that lay at the middle of his palm. "Though I should give ya a sample we humans eat. Take it"

One of the many squid's tentacles broke through the surface and before Hagrid could take notice, it quickly grasped the toast from his hand, leaving a slimy-like substance behind.

"Toast should'a be crunchy, I 'uppose ya won't have the pleasure of eating it so." He remarked, as the one tentacle that held the toast disappeared into the water.

ANs: Hagrid is not the brightest out of the bunch, but he's amusing nonetheless ;)
