My newest obsession is America and Kagome. Sue me.
Disclaimer: I don't own a lot of things. However, I do own your soul. *evil cackle*
Life just wasn't fair.
Ayumi had long since decided that this was so.
And she had good reason to!
She glumly sipped her soda, watching Kagome attract the attention of yet another gorgeous male.
"I'm telling you, WacDonald's is far superior to this rathole!"
The handsome, bespectacled American man that she was ranting at gasped, almost as if he was in physical pain. "McDonald's is great!" he insisted. "That's 'cause it's American!"
Kagome snorted. "So?"
He clutched at his heart. "Don't you know that I'm- I mean America's the hero?"
"A country can't be a hero."
"Yes, it can! Look at the world wars!"
"A country's citizens can be heroic, but how can an actual country be? A country is just a mass of land."
"I bet you wouldn't say that about your country," he insisted childishly.
Kagome rolled her eyes. "Yes, I would."
"Then say it!" He crossed his arms triumphantly, as if he'd won the argument.
Kagome groaned. "Japan is just a mass of land."
The man (what was his name again? Andy?) nearly spit out his drink. "You're from Japan! But he's much nicer than you!"
Ayumi raised a brow. Most people would've gleaned that much from Kagome's accent. Were Americans really this stupid?
"Who?"
What's-his-name rubbed the back of his neck nervously. "I, uh, have a friend from Japan."
Kagome narrowed her eyes suspiciously. Now that Ayumi thought about it, her friend had been acting oddly ever since they stepped foot in the restaurant. It was as if she was expecting an attack, or something.
"Anyway, Japanese cuisine is much tastier than this stuff."
He stood up indignantly. "That's it!" He grabbed Kagome's hand and tugged her to her feet.
"What are you-"Kagome was cut off by a burger being shoved in her mouth.
"Excuse us, ladies, but I have to take miss food snob here to sample some American cooking," he said roguishly, grinning. He dragged the protesting girl away, talking loudly about funnel cakes and coffee and how he'd take her to an amusement park while he was at it.
This was just too much.
Ayumi banged her head against the table, ignoring the looks she was receiving from Yuka and Eri, who'd watched the exchange like a tennis match.
Life was so damn unfair.
