No one knows you're crying in the rain. It sounded so stupid, but today she needed stupid. She continued walking. How could she have fallen in love with that idiot?

Her heels clicked along the pavement, the sound softening as she walked through puddles. She didn't notice them. The only thing she noticed was her heart. It hurt and it wasn't something she could bandage or take painkillers for.

Houshou had asked her to come to their gig. He made sure she knew her ticket was also a pass to see the band backstage. After the show, they would be going out for a late meal. She was excited. Not wanting to jinx it, she told no one about their date. But all her hopes came crashing down in one moment. Walking into the back room to wish him luck him before the show, she found him laying on a couch with a young girl leaning over to kiss him.

It shouldn't affect her like it did. She'd been dumped before. She'd broken up with others. She couldn't remember one instance where she felt this bad at the end of a relationship. They hadn't even had one date and he had trampled her heart.

"How dare he?" Ayako's temper flared. She grabbed onto the anger. It was better than the pain. She stomped her foot, wishing his head was nearby so she could pummel him with her purse.

A hand grabbed her arm and turned her around. Ayako's eyes widened as she realized the man who had hurt her was standing in front of her. A red mark stood out on his face, but it looked like it was fading. She tried to jerk away but he didn't let go. The rain was running down his face. His hair was plastered down. Ayako knew she probably looked just as pathetic.

"You're missing your gig," Ayako said, trying to get him to leave.

"It can wait."

"I'm sure you and your girl enjoyed laughing at me," Ayako clung to her anger. It would be the only thing to get her through this confrontation.

"I have no idea who that girl was. I was asleep."

"That's a likely story," Ayako glared at him. Houshou slid his hand down to hers and put it against the mark on his cheek.

"Someone kissed me. I said your name. Then, she slapped me." Ayako's mind stopped at his words. He was kissed and assumed it was her. She slid her hand against his cheek. "Tono said a red haired woman ran from the dressing room into the rain looking upset. I don't want to kiss anyone but you." Houshou stepped closer, wrapping his arm around her waist. He kissed her, showing how much. He pulled back only enough so their foreheads touched. He looked deep into her eyes. "The only woman I want is you."

"That girl . . ."

"Snuck in and wanted to have a memory with someone from the band. I was the unlucky one who was asleep."

"I should have known. It's a good thing I have my abilities so both of us aren't defenseless." Houshou smiled as she pulled away. His Ayako was coming back. He wanted her fire and stubbornness. It would take time, but they'd get past this bump.

"I'm sorry, Ayako." She looked in his eyes. He was serious. This was their first date and it started badly, due to nothing but circumstances. The excitement she felt earlier started coming back. Ayako wasn't one to miss an opportunity, however.

"You'll have to make it up to me," the red head glared at him.

"I can think of a lot of ways to make it up to you, old woman. Now, I have a show." He grabbed her hand as he turned away and pulled her after him. He made sure he was out of purse range as he moved through the rain.
