Remus walked into the flat he shared with Sirius looking a little shell-shocked. Sirius looked up and watched as he put the groceries in the kitchen and sat down on the couch next to him.
"Remus?" Sirius's voice was cautious. "Is there something wrong?"
The reply he got was not the least bit what he was expecting. "I got mooned."
Sirius stared at him for a full minute, letting that absorb. "What?" His voice was also more than a little shocked.
Remus sighed and turned
his head to look at Sirius. "I was walking home from the store and
this guy walked up to me. He asked if my name was Remus Lupin. I
asked him why he wanted to know. The guy turns around and moons me. I
was staring at him in shock. He finally turned around, seemed to
study me for a moment, before walking away." He paused for a
moment. "He looked disappointed about
something."
Sirius thought about this. "You got mooned."
"Yes."
A pause. "Was it a full moon?"
The change came slowly. Remus turned his head, looked at him, and almost seemed to snarl. Sirius knew when to move and instantly bolted. Remus was up and after him in seconds.
Several hours later, they were both collapsed on the couch. Remus had finally calmed down, but Sirius didn't seem to know when to quit.
"You never answered my question, you know."
Remus turned to stare at him before letting his head fall back on the couch. "Yes. It was a very full moon." They stared at each other for a long moment. Seconds later, they were both almost rolling on the floor laughing.
AN: Just for the record, I don't really like the ending, but I couldn't figure out how else to end it.
