KING OF THE GOBLINS
"You're him, aren't you? You're the Goblin King."
He was warned. Repeatedly. He chose to ignore them.
She gave him power. She fashioned him to love her.
In return, he gave her everything she wanted-including his own demise.
Gladly, he posed on a mantel gathering dust, the trophy of a lucky hunter.
Gladly, he lay in the box of childhood trinkets, high on a closet shelf.
She asked him to wait. And so he would - without sight, without a heart, without a soul.
A small price to pay to be her Goblin King.
A/N 2006: Just a little snippet floating around in my head. I don't know that it means anything, really. That's up to you.
"Those who give you life may take it back, and in the taking, take from you more than they gave." - from the book "Miss Garnet's Angel" by Salley Vickers.
NOTE: This one is 10 years old. I thought about editing, but decided to leave as is.
