Hi, everybody! DeterminedToFly here, along with Polyphony, and together we're hosting a contest!
It's a one-shot songfic contest. Any Genre, you can choose any song/s you want. It can be any rating, any word length, AU/AH, OOC, canon, or otherwise. It's all up to you, the author.
Polyphony and yours truly will be marking them individually, then marking the ones the other thought were the best. Your story/ies will be marked out of 20. 10 marks for your prose (spelling, punctuation, grammar) and 10 for the content (plot, themes, song/s chosen and how well it's used, and how in character it is if you chose to go down that path).
The reward will be our utmost respect, as well as a review for every chapter of every story you've written so far, any chapters you're going to post and a custom one-shot of your desire.

I try to assure myself, 'It's a big forest.' I say 'But there's been plenty of time.' Comes back at me, out of my heartwood. What's wrong with me anyway? I'm a tree after all, isn't that enough? It should be, for a tree herder, it should be… Should be… What do I have to do? To become like those other trees? I am young, I acknowledge that, but I still deserve some company, right? Right. So where are you all?

The tree was aware of the anger that flooded through it, but completely unaware of the rotting it caused. His heart became black. When this was realised, it was too late, the darkness invaded his mind, clouding his thoughts with rage and irrationalities.
