They all moved into this big house. Glenn got Maggie pregnant and she just went into labor about an hour ago and everyone was helping with that upstairs. Except Daryl, he was babysitting.
"Dawyl"
"What?" He was just laying on that one incredibly comfy couch.
"Come pway wif me"
"Whatcha' playin'?"
"Wegos" Carl raided a box of legos from a dollar store last week.
"Ok..but you have to bring em' here"
"Why?"
"Cuz' I don't wanna get up"
"Why?" She also did that thing where anything you said was a mystery to her and she always asked questions. Like the time that him and Carol were sitting in their room and he was kissing her neck and Judith came in and kept asking what they were doing until it was too awkward to even say anything to her since she's so little.
"Cuz'"
She gave up with the questions and put the legos in the box and walked them over to Daryl. She dumped the box out on his chest. Then she climbed on top of him and sat on him, next to the pile of legos. She started to make some sort of lump of all the sizes and colors. Daryl didn't knkw what to make so he just made a pattern of orange and purple and blue.
"Gimme' that purple one" She picked up a lego and handed it to him. "That's red"
"It's purpwe"
"No that's red"
"It's not wed, its purpwe"
"It's red"
"No, cuz' Carw's shiwt is purpwe"
"His shirt is red"
"Nuh uh!"
"Yeah huh!" That was when he realized he was fighting with a two and a half year old girl.
"It's purpwe! "
"It's red!"
"Purpwe!"
"Red!"
"Youw cowor bwind!"
"How do even know what that is!? !"
"Carw towd me"
"Of course he did" He lifted Judith off of him and stood up, spilling legos everywhere "I'm getting the color book and I'm gonna show you what purple looks like"
When he stood up he stepped barefoot on a lego.
"Ow!...Dangit...hmm..." he fell in the floor trying not to swear in front of her.
Judith was giggling so hard that she fell off the couch. Lucky for her, not on a lego.
"Yeah yeah, laugh at me" but he ended up smiling since it was so cute when she did.
"Awe you otay?"
"Yeah I'm fine" he limped over to her playpen and dug out the color book. "C'mere, you" he held out his arm and she walked over to him and sat on his lap. He opened the book.
"Ok kid, what color is elmo?"
"Ewmo's wed"
"What color is the lego?"
She knew he was right. She looked at the lego and back at him. "Dis wego?"
"Yes that lego"
"Dis wego, wight hewe?"
"That lego. Right there."
She whispered "Its wed"
"Yeah its red! And who was right?"
She pouted "Dawyl was"
"Yeah I was!" He laughed at her.
She got off of his lap and pointed at the window. "Wook Dawyl its dawk out, its baf time!"
He never understood why she liked bath time so much, but this wouldn't be the first time he's bathed her. She ran off to the bathroom.
He gave her a bath, dried her off, and put a clean pair of training underwear on her. "I want my ewmo jammies"
She had a red pair of footies that basically was an elmo costume because his face was on the hood. Daryl grabbed them out of her pile of clothes and helped her get them on. She yawned.
"I tiwed"
"You're tired?"
"Mm hmm"
"Well you can't go upstairs yet so you have to sleep down here"
She held her arms up "Cawwy me"
He picked her up and paced around until she fell asleep. Then he just tucked her under her blankie on that incredibly comfy couch.
