I wasn't sure at first if I would post this, but depending on my mood I might write more, if not then this won't be here long and join my unfinished list.

He would do anything for her. If he couldn't keep her safe then what good was he? These things always pass through his mind. Silver Surfer knew Jynx was strong in her own way, but she's not invincible. Sometimes he, along with Iron Man, wished the girl wasn't so headstrong. She runs straight into danger without a second thought and getting her to obey some orders was like pulling teeth. Maybe it was a girl thing. Or just a Jynx thing.

Jynx had similar thoughts...she loved Surfer more than anything in the world. She put all of her trust in him, and would put her life on the line for his. She seemed fearless when it was time to fight, but the truth was...it scared her to death. It was never a sure thing that anyone would walk away from the next fight. Jynx knew this...but didn't let that stop her. She's a super hero...she has someone she'd die for. Really, that's all that matters.

That's why this hurt so much for both of them. The Dark Surfer incident had been bad enough, but even though he's the Silver Surfer again he's going to prison? Jynx felt like the universe was against her and was once again denied that happy ending.

"I have to answer for my crimes, Jynx. I promise I'll return once my time is done."

Sadly, that did little to comfort her, with all the universal charges against him, it was likely she'd never see him again. Jynx tried not to let it show as she gave Surfer what was likely to be the last hug.

"I love you."

"I love you too, Jynx."

This was hurting Surfer just as much as it was hurting Jynx if not more. He had desperately wanted a happy ending to his own life. It had been a long time since he had last seen Zenn La and Shalla Bal. He had learned to accept the fact he may never return to his own planet. When he met Jynx..she brought back a light he thought would never come back. He found himself able to fall in love again and see a happy life ahead. He couldn't believe that in a single instant it had been shattered to pieces.

Jynx had a hard life herself...she lost everything at a young age...her parents were taken from her in an accident. She survived but had somehow lost both arms and legs. She had been ready to give up until she became BioSteel's new project and got her second chance. She joined the Super Hero Squad, met Surfer and finally felt like things were going right. That was taken away when Surfer became the Dark Surfer...she thought she just got it back and now it's being taken away a second time in only a few seconds.

It was a few days before Jynx came out of her room. The squad greeted her but all she could give was a forced half smile in return before heading out to sit at the top of the Helicarrier. She sat there for a while before she heard someone behind her.

"Hey, Jynx."

She sighed, really not in the mood for this, "Go away, Johnny."

Johnny Storm, the bane of her existence, was silent for a moment before landing and killing his flames. He knew the reason for her current spiral into depression and sat next to her.

"I heard Reed talking to Iron Man earlier and just wanted to see if you were okay."

Jynx glanced to him for a secend before staring straight ahead again. "I'm not sure I will be okay. I just got Surfer back and he was taken away again. Sometimes I think the universe might be against me."

Johnny sighed, "I hear you there. You want to talk about it?"

Jynx didn't say anything for a moment, she didn't want to but knew better than to keep it in, she let out a defeated sigh.

"Sure.."

Well, there is the first chapter of my first SHS fanfic. It was something in my head for a while involving my OC so...we'll see where it goes.
