Relief:

As the rose fell from her blood-stained hands,

She sighed a breath of relief and almost sadness.

The pain she felt had disappeared as did everything else.

She closed her eyes and smiled for the first time in months.

"God," she whispered, " please don't leave me too."

And just before that rose hit the floor,

Her life was no more.

You may ask how things turned out this way.

The answer you seek is not a difficult one.

Truth is, this poor creature had fallen in love - oh yes.

Her heart would only beat for one boy.

Only for that one blonde boy.

The day they met was no different than any other,

But to her it was the being of the end.

She saw him standing at the corner.

His beauty over powering her.

And when his eyes her hers, her heart danced.

Soon to stop dead.

The day they had their first date was nothing new

They ate their dinner and watched the movie.

It was just him and her,

And to her it was heaven itself.

The day he proposed was noting new.

He got on his knee and asked her hand.

He gave her a rose and kissed her lips.

Her heart was in ecstasy and her eyes in tears

Her life was perfect, or so she thought.

The day he died was nothing new.

The driver of the car was speeding and drunk

If only he had looked both ways

For as soon as he stepped the car was there

And he was gone forever.

The day she was found was nothing new

The neighbor called it in.

When they arrived the found her there with blood-stained wrists.

A dead rose was on the floor and so was a razor.

And in her hand was a photo of a young blonde boy on the corner.
