Nevaeh woke up late and noticed that her job was at 10:30 and it was now 10. She jumped up and got dressed quickly and combed hair. She ran down the stairs grabbing her skateboard as she headed out the door and onto the sidewalk.
As she pushed off on her skateboard a van started to follow her. She didn't notice them following until it was too late. They came around on her left shooting. She jumped out of the way, grabbed her skateboard and put it in the holder on her back as the van turned around and headed toward her.
Nevaeh saw a ladder escape jumped up grabbing it and climbed it to the roof of the building. She thought she was home free until one of the men was stepping onto the roof. She looked for a way down and saw a drainpipe on the building beside the one she was on. She ran and jumped praying that she could catch the pipe. She caught the pipe and climbed down as fast as she could.
After running around the corner she saw a manhole cover. She picked it up and went down putting the manhole cover back on. "Well Nicky it looks like I learned something useful from you after all", she said. She walked for what seemed like ever when she felt a hand reach out and grab her. Nevaeh was about to scream when she heard a voice that she knew all to well say, "Chill out". "Nicky? Nicky!", she yelled excitedly. "What are you doing down here?", he asked. "Well I was about to ask you the same question Nicky", She said.
Nicky was about to say something else when there was the sound of footfalls in water. "Oh no they couldn't have",Nevaeh said. Nicky didn't waist any time dragging her to the nearest manhole cover. She went out and Nicky followed her. "Follow me", he yelled as he took off running. Nevaeh followed close behind and hoping that the attackers wouldn't follow them. Nevaeh heard the sound of gunfire and felt something graze her leg. She yelped in pain and fell to the ground. "Nicky keep going!", she yelled, but he came back and lifted her over his shoulder.
"Tunnel Rat over here!", an African American yelled. "Tunnel Rat?", Nevaeh asked. "I will explain later", he replied as he set her in the back of a Cobra van. Nicky jumped in and closed the door. The tires squeeled and Nicky looked at her. "Nicky why are you here?", she asked. "Well we were here to save you. Turns out Cobra wants you any reason for that?" he asked looking concerned.
After a long explenation of why Cobra was after her Nicky introduced everyone. "Nicky I love your new name it suites you well", she laughed as Tunnel Rat cleaned her wound and bandaged it. "We are taking you to someone who can help you", he said as the van pulled to a stop. Duke looked at Tunnel Rat and nodded. Tunnel Rat opened the back door and helped Nevaeh out. "Well this is where I say goodbye Snake Eyes will take you to...", he was cut off when Nevaeh kissed him. He was shocked at first but relaxed. "I am going with you Nicky", she said. "But what about your job your life we are wanted fugitives", Tunnel Rat said.
Tunnel Rat talked to Duke and he didn't like the idea of Nevaeh going with them, but he figured that she would be safer in their protection. Nevaeh jumped up into the van and looked at Tunnel Rat. "Remember when we were young and I told you I would always love you?" Tunnel Rat asked. "Yeah",Nevaeh said about to put her earphones in. "Well I meant it", he said and kissed her passionately. "I won't leave you ever again", he said. Nevaeh put her earphones in and cuddled close to Tunnel Rat and knew that what he said was true.
