Summary: "When I grow up, I'll never be like the Colonel", Edward vowed. Is the woman beneath the lamppost to blame? Manga-based. I am not the author-slash-owner of Full Metal Alchemist…though I wish I am.

"Quit worrying the lieutenant", Edward said as he slammed the car door shut. Colonel Mustang jumped in surprise at the sudden action. "Thanks for the ride", Edward continued. His younger brother, Alphonse remained standing in attention.

"Sure", Mustang said, smirking slightly.

He drove away, leaving the Elric brothers watching. Suddenly, Mustang stopped the car at a distant lamppost where a woman was waiting. Mustang went out of the car and approached the woman, who grimaced.

"What took you so long, Roy?" the woman whined in an outrageously high pitched voice.

"Sorry, I had an emergency", Roy explained, "But I'll make it up to you later, I promise". He flashed a smile at the woman who smiled back. When they entered the car, Mustang drove, leaving the dumbfounded Edward gaping. He looked at his younger brother, who just shrugged.

"When I grow up, I'll never be like the Colonel", Edward vowed, "I'll just stick to one woman for the rest of my life."

"So you'll stick to Winry forever, brother?" Alphonse teased.

Edward blushed. "Who said that I'll marry that uncute automail freak?" he retorted, "She's not totally my type and she's demanding and-"

"Yes, yes. Don't be so loud, otherwise people will know that the infamous Fullmetal Alchemist has a girlfriend already." Alphonse cut in.

"SHE'S NOT MY GIRLFRIEND!" Edward screamed to Alphonse as they both made their way to the hotel.

Meanwhile…

"I was worried for a while back there," Mustang said, "It was a good thing that you were standing a few feet away."

"Well, I say that it's a good thing they didn't recognize me", a calm voice answered.

Mustang stopped at the red light and turned his head towards his right side. He smiled. "They wouldn't even know it was you. You look different. More beautiful than usual, in fact." he said. "Haven't I told you how lucky I am to have you?"

A hand reached for Roy's face and patted his cheek. "I think I should be the one saying that", the same calm voice answered, though softly this time.

Without Mustang even noticing, the light turned green. The hand on Mustang's cheek started to withdraw, but he caught it and kissed it softly.

"Let's go. The light turned green a while ago", the voice said.

"Can't we stay here?" Mustang whined, "There are no other cars anyway."

"Roy…" the voice said warningly.

Mustang released the hand and sighed in defeat. "Right away, Lieutenant."
