When they fight on the battlefield, they are ninja.
When his eyes bleed to red and she begs for him to stop, they are friends.
In the presence of Naruto, he is teme and she is Sakura-chan.
When she heals his broken bones and he does not make a sound, she is a healer and he a warrior.
When he is covered in blood and staring at a fallen corpse with a face like his own, and she holds him, he is the Avenger and she is thankful that he did not die.
When she has shoulder-length hair and calls him Sasuke-kun and he ignores her, she is his fangirl, and he is the ice prince who does not care for her affections.
When he says 'thank you', he means 'I love you', but he is too afraid to say it, and she is too blind to read between the lines.
But, when they are alone and brave enough to say what they may not, to be more than they appear to the naked eye- then, they are Sasuke and Sakura.
