Title: The cure
The cure
The soft 'bing' of the elevator announced his arrival before he passed the threshold of her lab where he was greeted by a soft 'hick'-sound instead of the usual offending noise Abs called music.
Said noise fanatic was currently doing a headstand, leaning against one of the refrigerator doors, with a glass of water standing in front of her face, straw between her ruby-red lips. How she had managed that was beyond him.
After letting the straw slide out of her mouth she spoke up.
"Oh, hey 'hick' Gibbs."
"Hey Abs, still got the hiccups?"
Glancing at his wrist watch he frowned. Almost two hours had passed since the last time he had been in her lab for results.
When he entered back then he was equally greeted with a 'hick' only was it accompanied by a wide smile on her lips.
"Someone is thinking about me." 'hick'
"You believe in those old wife tales?" He had asked grinning.
Abby had answered with a shocked expression "You don't?" She managed to hold her facial expression for a few seconds before had turned from shock into a wide teasing smile.
He just had grinned back thinking 'If they were true you would have the hiccups 24/7.'
Gibbs shook the container in his hand causing the ice-cubs to clang against each other.
"Maybe this will help."
'Hick' was all Abby answered, while lowering her feet back to the ground, getting up swiftly.
"It better, 'hick', I tried a glass of water, a spoonful of sugar, breathing it away, a spoonful of peanut butter, 'hick', held my breath and nothing worked.
She slurped her drink.
"I even let the three musketeers surprise me, 'hick', but obviously they did not succeed. Any remedy you want to share with me?"
The scientist turned and placed her drink on the workbench.
"Yeah."
Expectantly Abby turned around again facing Gibbs.
Before she could say something, his lips were on hers kissing her with all the pent up passion that had built up over the last couple of years.
The first half second the surprise of this very bold, Gibbs atypical move let her tense up before she melted against his broad chest, eyes closed kissing back.
Tasting the sweetness of her drink combined with the bitterness of his as their tongues teased one another was an amazing experience.
Abs knees turned to mush and the pit of her stomach clenched in blissful tension caused by the possibilities ahead of her.
Her hands moved to his neck into his hair holding him in place while his hands were on her waist tenderly drawing circles on each side.
When air became a need Abby let him reluctantly bring some distance between them, not much though as their foreheads still touched.
Eyes locked.
No hiccup.
Abby brought her face to his neck, inhaling his intoxicating scent for the first time completely without the usual distance between them, leaving butterfly kisses where her lips touched before bringing her forehead against his again.
"Hmm, I like this remedy."
Their lips met again, this time for a brief but tender kiss.
"Just to be clear Abs, it is a household remedy. By that I mean my household."
The smile he loved so much became visible.
"Don't worry MY silver-haired-fox; this remedy seems to be a magic cure for all kinds of aches and little problems."
Letting his hands wander over her back he played along. "What kind of aches and little problems would that be?"
"You see I had this little heartache before you showed me your 'hiccup'-remedy and it just vanished. But I think it's the kind of ache you need a daily dose of medicine, so I'm afraid you have to stick around."
"That can be arranged."
Pulling her close his lips found hers again kissing her aches away, and for a matter of fact, his as well.
Fin.
