"Jade," Beck said, "You cannot be mad at me... especially without telling me WHY you're mad at me"
"I'm not mad at you," Jade said, "What would make you think I am?"
"We haven't... been romantic in almost a month," Beck said
"And why do you suppose that might be," Jade said calmly
"You're obviously mad at me," Beck said
"No I'm not," Jade told him, "I just won't be involved romantically with someone who act like my father"
"WHAT! I don't act like you're father," Beck asked.
"Oh really," Jade said, "So it wasn't you that timed me out at Tori's last week? It wasn't you that is consistently reminding me to be nice to Vega even when she starts with me-"
"Tori doesn't start with you," Beck argued.
"Right dad," Jade said sarcastically
"Are you telling me that Tori has a role in this argument between the two of you?"
"We're not discussing that," Jade said, "and I guess it wasn't you who got mad at me the other day over something I didn't even do. I guess it wasn't you who-"
"What do you mean you didn't do it? There was an embarrassing poster up of Tori"
"Oh... right," Jade said, "There was an embarrassing picture up of Tori so that automatically makes me the one at fault. Sorry dad. I'll remember that next time"
Beck flushed in annoyance.
"We all know you don't like Tori," Beck said
"We are not having this discussion right now," Jade said firmly.
"So you didn't put that poster up?"
"Did you see me put the poster up," Jade asked.
"No but who else hates Tori enough to do that," Beck said
"First of all I don't hate Vega and second we're not discussing that. We're discussing why we can't be romantic lately."
"What's wrong with what I've been doing anyway," Beck asked annoyed.
"Nothing but I won't be romantic with my father," Jade said calmly.
"STOP REFERING TO ME AS YOUR FATHER," Beck said.
"Stop acting like you are and I won't refer to you as you are"
"I'm your boyfriend," Beck said
"You are but you don't act like it. A boyfriend wouldn't time his girlfriend out-"
"You insulted Tori when she was clearly upset," Beck argued, "I didn't want there to be world war III."
"Okay this conversation is done," Jade said calmly
"NO! We need to talk this out."
"I can't," Jade said, "It'll just make me angry and you hate it when I have a temper tantrum 'dad'," Jade said.
Beck took a breath to regain patience.
"Well what am I supposed to do," he asked.
"What do you think," Jade said, "Obviously your idea isn't working so what do you think might be some better ideas"
"I don't know," Beck said, "Nothing works. You don't listen when I tell you to be nice to her. You-"
"You know if you're going to act like my father at least you could take the other route."
"The other route," Beck asked.
"Yes. You have yet to reward me when I'm nice to Vega," Jade said.
"That would require you being nice to her," Beck smirked.
"Oh. So I guess trying to empathize with her wasn't being nice," Jade said pretending to understand.
"I get that you were trying to empathize," Beck said, "But that was not empathetic."
"You know what else doesn't help"
"What?"
"You acting this way."
"Fine. I won't act like that anymore. Now I want to be with you"
"Actions speak louder then words Beck," Jade said and calmly walked away leaving him to think about it
