AN: Merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy this little Seasonal one shot.
Rukia's Santa
By: Abarai Starsha
The shopping bags were piled high around the short white haired prodigy. He was sitting on a bench in the middle of the mall, impatiently waiting on an equally short raven haired beauty who tricked him into coming to this hell forsaken place.
"Come Christmas shopping in the Living world with me!" Her violet eyes shined brightly.
"No." He answered coolly. "Why can't you just shop here?"
"Because what I want to give you isn't here."
"Y-you want to give me something?" His interest perked.
"Of course I do. I figured I could get it and a few other things for everyone else while we're there."
Looking at the pile of bags he figured she had enough for everyone in Soul Society. He sighed. Where the hell was she? He hated sitting there, everyone who walked by looked at him like he was some lost child. How he hated this place.
"Look mommy! It's a grumpy elf!" she said as she pointed at Toshiro. His eyes narrowed as he glared at the girl. "Eeeek, he's a scary elf, Mommy!"
"Yes," said the mother giving him disapproving look, "Maybe Santa-san should fire him."
His glare moved from the girl to her mother. He didn't stop until long after they were gone. Not long after he felt something on his head.
"What the?"
"It's a Santa-san hat!" Rukia said proudly. He looked at her as he took it off of his head and found she was wearing a head band with brown twigs coming out of both sides of her head.
"What are those?"
"Antlers. I'm a reindeer!" She said with the same brightness in her eyes. How he couldn't resist those eyes.
"You're cute, but I'm not wearing the hat."
"It was either the hat or elf ears."
He narrowed his eyes at her. "Why would I wear either?"
"Because it will help you get into the Christmas spirit by being Santa-san!" she said, smiling.
Toshiro pouted as he remembered the little girl.
"I am a Captain of the Gotei 13, I will NOT wear that!"
"You are a Captain in Soul Society; here, you're Hitsugaya Santa-san." She said giving him the hat. "Besides, I won't give you what I came here for unless you're in the Christmas spirit."
He hated how easy she could manipulate him into doing whatever she wanted.
"Fine." He said as he jammed the hat on his head. He looked at the big smile she gave him. He couldn't help but smile a little in return. He was captivated by her.
She held up something over his head. He raised his eyebrow.
"What's with the twig?"
"It's mistletoe. Human legend has it that when two people are under it, they have to kiss."
"Out here? In public?" He looked at her like she was crazy.
"Well, if you don't want to, I'm sure I could find some-"
Toshiro didn't let her finish before he pulled her into his lap and looked into her eyes.
"They have to kiss, huh?" He asked nervously. He glanced around and inwardly groaned at all the passersby staring at the couple.
"Yes," she whispered, "It's bad luck to break tradition."
Toshiro leaned in and brushed his lips up against hers. Instantly his world narrowed to just the two of them and the heat of the kiss he was feeling. She increased the pressure as she moved her lips against his. When they broke and returned to reality his scowl returned.
"I can't believe you got me to kiss in public."
She smiled and handed him the sprig.
"So, you mean to tell me all I have to do is hold this over your head anytime I want a kiss and you have to do it?"
She nodded.
He gave her an evil grin. "We're done shopping." He said as he grabbed the bags and her arm and left the mall.
