'The end of the world is coming, lady.' Ned said, shoving the cans of food into his shopping bag. 'You'd better be ready.'
'Uh...okay.' The Cashier said as Ned paid her in notes and grabbing his bags to head out onto the street towards the bus stop, muttering under his breath
'I'll be ready...'

As soon as the bus pulled up, Ned rose from his seat and headed towards the doors, clutching his shopping bags. He was keen to get back to his bunker and store his supplies. He had a bad feeling about tonight. However, if he'd not been in such a hurry, he'd have noticed the keys drop out of his pocket onto the seat he had just vacated...

Ned froze when he heard a shuffling, scrabbling noise from the alley, peering into the gloom to see someone staggering towards him. The figure emerged from the alley and his eyes widened. It was a man, or had been, with greying skin and a stench of decaying flesh in the air.
'I knew it.' Ned muttered, turning to run, huffing down the street as fast as his legs would carry him. There was a grunt from behind him and he risked a look back to see the Zombie shambling after him.
'I told them. I told them.' He puffed. 'But did they listen to old Ned? Well, I told them.'
He dodged down an alley and flung himself towards a door hidden in the shadows, scrabbling frantically in his pockets.
'They said I was mad when I got this bunker. Well, who's mad now. I...What the hell?'
Ned growled as he pulled out his jacket pockets, finding nothing in them than an old packet of bubblegum and two used cigarettes.
'Shit.' Ned muttered, as the Zombie shambled around the corner into the alley and he lunged towards the dumpster at the other end. Routing around under the bags, his hand closed on something wooden, drawing out a baseball bat.
'Oh, yeah.' He murmured, turning to see the Zombie advancing towards him and he swung, the bat connecting with a sickening thud, sending it slamming into the wall. It tried to scrabble back to it's feet and he brought the bat down again and again until it stopped moving.
'I told them.' He muttered for the last time, before scuttling out of the alley and into the city...
