A/n: This is just a little oneshot I thought of. Enjoy! By the way, it's in Aang's POV.
Disclaimer: I don't own Avatar. If I did, Suki would be dead, Toph and Sokka would be together, and Katara and Aang would be together.
It was around the middle of January when I got sick. When Zuko woke me up for breakfast, I walked down as far as the campsite, and threw up on my bare feet. The bitter taste filled me with disgust.
"AANG!" Toph yelled, "That's disgusting!"
"Sorry." I said weakly, then, feeling my stomach lurching, I barfed again.
"Aang, are you OK?" Katara asked, dropping the food she was cooking and running over to me. She grabbed a small cloth and held it under my chin. That almost made me upchuck again, but I guess there wasn't anything left in my stomach. With her other hand, she felt my forehead.
"You're burning up," she said. "Let's get you right back to bed." She guided me down the hall and, over her shoulder, called, "Sokka, clean that up would you?"
"Katara!" Sokka yelled in horror. "I'm still eating!"
"Not anymore, you're not." Katara said."I need some help here." Sokka gave a howl of disgust. But right then I wasn't concerned about Sokka. I was just trying to make it back to bed with legs limp as noodles.
''Tell me everything that hurts, Aang." Katara said after propping me up on my pillow and covering me with a blanket.
"My head hurts, I ache all over, and my stomach hurts a little."
"Do you need anything?" Katara asked.
"Some water would be great." I said.
"Okay." Katara said. She took some of the water from her pouch and water bended it to my mouth. I took a couple of sips before I laid down and closed my eyes. I laid still for a long time with my eyes closed. I guess I did sleep a little, because when I opened my eyes again, Katara was looking at me and smiling.
"I remember," she said, "The day we found you in the iceberg. Sokka and I were going fishing, when I got really mad at Sokka. I water bended two huge waves, and then an iceberg popped out of the ocean. I saw a void in a human shape, can your arrows on your hands and head were glowing. I had to get you out of there, so I broke it open. That's when we found you." I grinned.
"Katara? can I ask you a question?"
"Sure Aang, anything." I took a deep breath. It was now or never.
"You know how I didn't unlock the seventh chakra?" she nodded. "Well, it's because I had to let go of my closest attachments. But I couldn't." Katara cocked her head to one side.
"What did you have to let go of? " I took another deep breath.
"I had to let go of the person I loved the most. And you know who that was?"
"Who?" she asked.
"It was..." I paused. "It was you." Katara's eyes widened.
"Aang, what are you saying?" she asked.
"I'm saying...I love you. I have loved you ever since you found me. I was worried because, you know, in the play, the actor said that you loved Zuko. And I was mad because I thought you did love Zuko." Katara shook her head and chuckled.
"Aang, this may be hard to believe, but I only like Zuko as a friend. And...I love you too.' She smiled and gently kissed my cheek. "Now, you need to get some sleep." She walked out of the room, blowing out the candle lighting my room. I was already starting to feel better.
There's Sick Day. I hoped you liked it! Please Review!
