Cats and Creepers
Long ago, a group of people calling themselves the Sulfetes lived in peace. They were a friendly people, and it was custom to hug anyone and everyone. They were also fascinated by explosions and the ones who invented gunpowder and later TNT. They often lived on deserts that bordered jungles, so ocelots often went into their villages. Some of the magically-gifted could understand and speak to the ocelots. Some even chose to tame them.
A miner found a strange ore, deep in a cave system that was littered with zombies. The zombies defended this ore until there were none left. The miner brought the ore to the chieftain of the tribe for investigation. Soon all the villages found this ore and investigated it. One chief found that the ore could replace gunpowder in the recipe for TNT, yielding much more powerful explosives. The ocelots and tamed cats warned the Sulfetes that this powerful TNT would be their doom. All ignored the warning.
Soon, the people dealing with the strange ore began to mutate. Their skin became a sickly green. They were kept in quarantine until the witch doctors could figure out what was happening to them.
Years later, the Sulfetes were no more. In their villages now roamed armless green monsters that Minecraftians began to call Creepers. They would run up to anyone and explode. One scientist and an anthropologist thought that these creepers might be more than what they seem, and were supported by Sulfete lore. It was now assumed that these creepers were once Sulfetes who wanted to hug, but no longer had the arms to do so. The radiation changed their bodies into walking bombs when they became frustrated.
The scientist found one creeper that still had the ability to speak to normal Minecraftians.
"I hope that I won't ssssssssslay you…"
"I'll try not to upset you."
"Well, the reassssssssson we run from ocelotsssssssss and catssssssss is that we fear the obviousssssss 'I told you ssssssssssso' ssssssssssscene."
"That's understandable."
Tragically, after being interviewed, the creeper wished to hug the scientist for listening, as is their custom. The whole lab could hear the explosion.
