You Can Fly

I wrote this Peter Pan fanfic for my friend, Link Fangirl01.

It is good to be back doing Peter Pan fanfics. I still don't own Peter Pan, though.

Wendy Moira Angela Darling was resting her 14 year old head, watching the sky. She had no idea why, but she always did, each and every night. She felt that she had some business up there, but she could not know what it was.

Deciding that she had enough of it, she moved to lock the window. Suddenly, a boy her age dressed in green with a green hat was standing on the balcony, banging desperately on the window.

She opened it, finding him to look familiar. His eyes were glowing with joy at the opened window.

"Who are you?" she asked. At this statement the boy looked depressed, averting his eyes from her face to his feet.

"You don't remember me?" he asked, his voice filled with despair, "not even any kisses exchanged?"

"I believe that I would remember giving you a kiss," she said, confused.

A small light flitted by his head, tinkling. He turned to it, saying, "I know this is the house, and this is clearly her, Tink! Look at her! You know this to be the truth."

"Do you happen to have an acorn button?" he asked, eyes filled with hope.

"Why, yes, on a chain," she replied, confused, "I don't know why, I've just had it for a long time."

"Will you please bring it here," he asked.

"Okay," she replied, trying to puzzle out who the boy was.

"Ah, Wendybird," he whispered to himself, "What happened to you?"

Wendy came back with the acorn, and said, "Here is the acorn, what is the reason behind telling me to get it, Peter?"

"What did you just call me?" he asked, smiling brightly.

"Peter. That is your name," she replied simply.

"I never told you that," he smiled.

Wendy looked at him curiously, and then a grin spread across her face as all of her memories of Neverland returned to her.

"Peter, What are you doing here? And why are you older than when we last met?" she asked. Tinkerbell jingled at her, jingling a joyful laugh at seeing the girl and Peter smiling as joyfully as they used to.

"I wanted to see you," he replied, smiling with an emotion that Wendy never seen on his face before, "and so, I grew older for you."

"What?" Wendy asked, "But, I thought that you would never grow up."

"Neverland itself had aged me," he replied, "I'm not sure that I could stop myself from coming back to here. Each and every night, I tried, but, I just kept feeling drawn here. Please, just come back to Neverland. I need you."

"Why do you need me?" she asked, her heart fluttering. Peter froze for a moment, seeming to be trying to pull the words out of his mouth.

"I love you," he said, "I would leave it all for you, Neverland, eternal youth, but Neverland needs me for it to exist, or it'll die."

Wendy paused for only a second, before she said, "Yes."

"Yes?" he asked, looking incredulous.

"Just let me leave my family a note," she replied, writing her farewell to her family.

Peter laughed jubilantly, wrapping his arms around Wendy's waist, flying up in the room. Then, he kissed her lips passionately, lowering them both to the floor. Wendy completed writing her goodbye and the pair flew off into the night.

Off they flew to Neverland, and there they spent the rest of eternity, forever in love.

The End
