Rory Gilmore walked into the apartment she shared with her boyfriend of 3 years, Logan Huntzburger. He had been on a business trip for 2 weeks and she really missed him. Rory walked through the kitchen, past the living room and flopped dramatically on the bed. It was times like these that she felt like the biggest loser in the world. She had friends, but right now she wanted to talk and lay with Logan. After laying face down for a while her cell phone rang. Rory jumped up and ran to get it, hoping it would be Logan. It wasn't.
"Hey Rory!" an overly excited Lane Kim shouted into the phone.
"Hi Lane, what's new in your world?" Rory replied with much less enthusiasm.
"Okay, you sound upset which makes my reason for calling even better! I'm standing right outside your building's door. We are going to dinner and window shopping!"
"Lane….I'd love, to but-"but she really just wanted a warm bath and bed.
"No No No! You are coming weather you like it or not because I am here." Right after that there was a knock on the door and Lane let herself in. "All right, Gilmore, kick it in the butt and let's go"
Rory stood there for a long time, deciding if she really wanted to go out, before finally saying "All right. Let me get my coat."
By the time Rory got back in her car she was glad to have time with her childhood best friend. Lane had told her all about her and Zack and their new baby boy, Rayce. They talked and laughed all dinner. When Rory got back to the apartment she was starting to miss Logan again. As she walked up the stairs to the 5th floor she tried his cell and was disappointed to hear his voicemail, "You've reached Logan Huntzburger. I can't answer my phone but I'll call you back as soon as I can." Beep!
"Hey Logan it's me….umm just calling to say that I miss you…okay this is kind of pathetic so I will call you later…I love you" By now she had reached the door and was kind of freaked out because she could hear music from inside. Rory very carefully unlocked the door and kicked it open before standing to the side and peering in. She couldn't believe her eyes. Standing there, looking very confused by her entry techniques, was her Logan. Rory rushed to and tackled him.
"Oh my god! Logan I can't believe you're here and you didn't tell me!" She exclaimed before playfully hitting his arm.
"Easy Ace" said Logan before kissing his girlfriend "if I told you it would have ruined the surprise"
Rory laughed and went to go put her coat away "What surprise?"
"This." He said before getting down one knee and pulling the velvet box from his pocket. Tears formed in her eyes. "Rory Gilmore, I love you more than anything in the world. Will you marry me?"
Rory started to downright bawl and the only thing Logan could hear was "Yes!"
