Wandered into the darkness,
leaving behind her and her light.
Oblivious to the dark future,
disappeared into the night.
Found by a brace of ravens,
and cursed to never rise again.
Thoughts, dark and ruthless,
induced the time of pain.
Chasing the callous ravens,
having returned in another form.
Reduced to a voice and tone,
leaving her empty and forlorn.
Shadows soon revealed,
unearthing a perturbing sight.
Determined to vanquish ravens,
the only way out of his plight.
Trapped in silence for a long dark year
Of a hundred lies and an age of secret fears
While chasing ravens.

Vanished into the shadows,
filling her with fear and sadness.
Unaware of the lonely future,
other than a vision of madness.
Replaced that very night,
by a child never sought.
Pondering sudden absurdities,
but all efforts came to nought.
Reappear he seldom did,
and felt fleeting and distant.
Hoping each and every time,
yet always gone in an instant.
Promises, confessions, solace,
all words sent over the phone.
Though the one and only wish,
is for him to return home.
Trapped in loneliness for a long empty year
Of a hundred wishes and an age of secret tears
While he was chasing ravens.
