Silly Bands

Mandarin was not amused at the big grin on Otto's face. The orange monkey was concentrating deeply on the strange item on the green monkey's mechanical wrist. It was a rubber band, the color neon green, shaped like a robot monkey. The Leader took a glance at Nova's hand. She had one too, in the color yellow. He noticed that SPRX-77 had a red rubber band around his wrist as well. Even Gibson (persuaded by Otto) had a blue rubber band on.
"You all are ridiculous," said Mandarin, "why do you all participate in this…nonsense?"
"It's not nonsense, Mandarin, it's the latest trend," replied Nova.
"Everyone is wearing them!" Otto jumped toward Mandarin. "Here! I saved you an orange one!"
Everyone watched as Mandarin grabbed the orange rubber band shaped like a robot monkey. The leader of the Hyperforce took a good long look at it, and then stretched it until it snapped into one long rubber string piece, and could not be worn.
"We save them every single day…to be shaped like a piece of wasteful jewelry," Mandarin huffed. He then left the room and went to his headquarters.
Otto had a sad look on his face. Why did Mandarin have to be that way? It was all he had left in his piggybank to buy a pack of Robot Monkey Silly Bands, and Mandarin purposefully broke his.
Just then, Auntari came back from patrolling the city, and Otto's smile grew back on his face.
"Hey Auntari," Otto said, "wanna be a part of Shuggazoom's latest trend?" At this, Auntari had a blank look on his face, seeing the black piece of rubber Otto was eager to give him to put on his wrist.
