Moving On Without You

Introduction

It seemed like a nightmare. A horrible dream. And any minute now, she would wake up, and everything would be OK. Except deep down, she knew it wouldn't. Things couldn't be any worse, and things wouldn't be the same again.

She looked over to her husband, sat quietly on their sofa, his head buried in his hands. She could hear his gentle sobs. It pained her so see him so hurt and angered. Yet she knew there were no possible words she could speak that would soothe his pain. She didn't have the strength to comfort him during his time of need. During his time of grieving. She wanted to be there, wanted to hold him. But she was suffering too. She understood the pain he felt, she was going through it too. Yet he seemed to want comfort, for someone to hold him, whereas she just wanted to be alone. Left alone to grieve. Grieve for the one person she couldn't bear to part from. Their beautiful daughter. Grace Hutchinson. Cruelly snatched away from them. Forever.

How would she cope? It seemed no words could comfort her, not even her husband could say or do anything to help. They tried to be strong, for one another, yet it had become clear that they were slowly drifting apart…..
