A/N: Written for the Diversity Writing Challenge, a7 – between 50-99 word poem
Anonymous Dad
He barely sees the boy of his flesh and blood.
The boy doesn't see at all
and that's the way it's meant to be.
His parents are nameless, faceless shadows
that only speak, that can be called and go
at will
And he is free of that, free to indulge in a world
long gone.
But, somehow, when the boy paws through his treasures
with that raptured face, he is touched
That, in this anonymous family life,
they share a like.
