"I'm so sleepy Cake!" Fionna yelled in frustration, her voice muffled by the pillow underneath her face.
"Fionna honey, we've tried everything! I don't know what to do anymore." Cake said sympathetically.
"Aw." She complained. "I really am sleepy my eyes wanna shut but my mind won't shut up! I'm really trying my best here Cake."
"I know hun, but I can't do more than I already have. I've given you warm milk, I've played my Dulcimer, BMO has even played classical music for you! Fi it's all up to you, you have to get your self to sleep." Cake said before she slipped out of the tree house. Fionna ran to the window.
"Were are you going!" She yelled.
"Mocro, date, catnip, whoo!" Fionna rolled her eyes and sighed in exasperation as she collapsed onto the couch. Just then a knock at the door.
"Who is it?" Fionna yawned.
"Who do you think it is Fifi?" Fionna smiled to herself.
"Come in Marshall." The vampire king came into the little tree house and floated above the couch where the girl laid cuddled in a blanket.
"So whats up?"
"The sky." She said playfully facing the wall.
"Fionna. Really whats with you?" He asked.
"Tired." She sighed.
"Go to sleep then." He said as if it was the most obvious thing in the world. Fionna sat up and Marshall Lee sat beside her, arm slung over her shoulders.
"I tried Marshie, but I can't. Cake gave me milk, played music, even BMO tried. Nothing worked." She leaned her head on his shoulder.
"Well there are two things that I know that will get any woman to sleep." He said smirking, Fionna looked up at him and blushed.
"I know where you're going, and no." Marshall Lee laughed.
"Ok, ok I was only kidding."
"Sure you were." She rolled her eyes.
"Thing two, my angelic voice." Fionna laughed, and Marshall Lee frowned.
"Hey!" He whined, Fionna giggled at his response. "I have you know that I have a voice that makes the laddies swoon. All the girls wanna be with me." Fionna crossed her arms over her cheast.
"Oh yeah?" She said turning away from him.
"Is that a hint of jealousy I detect?" He said hugging her from behind.
"N-no." She stuttered as he kissed her neck. "Get off." She whined, the vampire grunted in annoyance but did as she wished. He gabbed her and pulled her against her as he lifted his feet from the ground. He caressed her hair and sang her a lullaby.
"Good night sleep tight no more tears in the morning I'll be here and when we say good night not good bye dry your eyes because we said good night and not good bye we said good night and not good bye"
As he sang the last words he could hear little snores, he looked down at the sleeping form of the girl her loved. He kissed her forehead, and brought her upstairs and placed her into the bed and climbed in with her. He held her close and cuddled her form. Soon Cake came home and saw the two fast asleep.
"Oh so she'll fall asleep when her sings to her, but not when I play my beautiful dulcimer music. Hmmf."
