The Wills Of Remus Lupin, Nymphadora Tonks And Fred Weasley

It was a sad day. Even the grey clouds seemed the match the moods of the witches and wizards gathered in Andromeda Tonks' home. They were all preparing for the readings of the wills of Fred Weasley, Nymphadora Tonks and Remus Lupin, the three people they had been closest to who had died. Andromeda had Teddy on her knee, his hair the usual cheery shade of turquoise. Hermione, her hair drawn back and wearing a white blouse and charcoal grey skirt, was crying on Ron's shoulder while he stroked her hair. Ginny was sitting beside Harry in a black dress, her face frozen, eyes wide and filled with tears.

Finally, the lawyer arrived with his female assistant and a younger junior. He had grey hair topped with a moth-eaten hat and was wearing a pinstriped suit. She had conker-brown hair drawn back into a chignon and was wearing grey. The junior had slightly too-long black hair, a strangely pale face and was wearing blue. They all carried briefcases. Harry saw Andromeda give the woman a funny look. Harry looked too. It was highly unlikely, but he was sure he knew her from somewhere.

"We are desperately sorry for your loss," said the man. His accent was funny, but his voice sounded familiar.

"We hope you won't be too upset during the reading," the woman said. Her voice too was familiar.

"I'm going to read it for you," said the junior. "First there was one bequest to all of you. 'To all our friends and family, we leave…nothing."

"Nothing!" the general group exclaimed. "What?!"

"They leave you nothing, because they aren't dead," said the woman.

"They are," George shouted. "I saw the bodies!" Slowly, the woman let down her hair. She screwed her face up in concentration and her hair turned suddenly bubblegum pink. The older man removed his hat and a mask. The younger man took off his wig and wiped off the face make-up. Sitting in front of them were…

"Lupin, Tonks, Fred, you're alive!" Harry exclaimed in delight. "But how…?"

"Sheer dumb luck," said Fred. "That killing curse missed me, I was only paralysed."

"As were both of us," said Lupin and Tonks together. Tonks held out her arms.

"Let me see my baby," she said. A shell-shocked Andromeda handed her Teddy. Tonks laughed. "Mum, don't looked so shocked, I know you recognised me straight away." Andromeda burst into tears at the same time as Molly and both started hugging their children.

"Gerroff, mum!" Fred protested. "You're strangling me and I want to say hi to the rest of my family."

"Oh, and another bit of news," said Tonks, having freed herself from her mother and cradling Teddy. "I'm going to have a baby." Andromeda started crying anew and was now hugging her son-in-law. Nobody could quite believe it. It was a cause for celebration and really cheered them up after a horrible few months.
