"This is all your fault."
"How is this my fault?"
"You showed up and-"
"I saved her life-"
"You broke her heart-"
"Really? I broke her heart? You-"
"No matter what I did, at least I was there. You left her over ten years ago and you showed up like nothing happened!"
"I wasn't allowed-"
"Allowed my ass. You were in prison and you still found time to visit when you saw her dying-"
"Odin would-"
"Don't blame this on-"
"No! You don't understand."
"Then explain it to me."
Tony fixed the tall man with a steely gaze as he scrubbed his face. His black hair seemed dirty, and his clothes were rumpled and torn. For the first time that day, Tony realized how weak the man was.
"Many years ago, in your time it was 1897, I had a daughter here on Earth. Her...her name was Amelia." Tony narrowed his eyes at him, but nodded for him to continue.
"She was full of life, always trying to break the binds of what what humanly possible. She broke many, many records. You see, she was a pilot. a very famous one, actually.
"But, one day, Odin found out who she was, while she was on her most famous airline journey. He-" Loki choked on his tears, looking away. He soon composed himself though, and continued.
"He plucked her right out of the air and brought her and I both to Asgard. I had been living with her, and her and her mother knew who I was. It was a simple life, one I enjoyed.
"He ranted and raved at me, telling me that what I did was unacceptable. But then...but then he turned his rage onto Amelia." Tony's eyes widened, but he stayed silent.
"He...ripped her apart. Literally. She kept begging me to save her but the guards and...my daughter died right in front of my eyes. That's what I was trying to protect Candice from. I couldn't bear the thought of that happening to her."
The room was silent for a second, only broken by Clint's soft mutter.
"Oh."
A/N: Well wasn't that just morbid? I wanted to give a little insight into why Loki did what he did, because Loki isn't a bad guy. It's just that the circumstances were so awful that he couldn't visit her.
