"Oh, shit," Hawke stopped suddenly enough that Anders nearly knocked her over. She was momentarily distracted by the placement of his hands while he tried to keep them both from falling flat on their asses but it wasn't enough. She whimpered and refused to move forward. "Merrill there wouldn't happen to be a cave through the mountain that doesn't scream, 'I'm full of giant spiders,' would there?"

The elven girl frowned, "The caves don't scream much. Well, they talk, yes, but- Oh," she paused, "Right. Um, no, this is the only one."

"Oh, great," Hawke muttered darkly. "I just love things with eight legs and venom that are six feet wide and want to devour me."

Bethany laughed and grinned at her sister, "No matter how much older you are I'll always be able to tease you about this." She cheerfully brushed past her sister.

"Fabulous," Hawke drew a dagger from each side of her belt and began moving forward at a careful enough pace that the first giant, hairy, eight-legged nightmare landed on Beth instead.
