Another mother's day was coming up. Anna always dreaded the day it brought up too many memories. Elsa dreaded it too, Anna knew. Unlike Anna, however, Elsa never wanted to talk about it. Anna knew it wasn't her fault, she didn't send them on that ship but Anna couldn't help but blame Elsa.

Maybe it was because Elsa didn't grieve the same way, maybe it was because she felt like if Elsa would've been there through their childhood it wouldn't have happened. Whatever the reason was the two sisters were always fighting around this time of year.

But this year Anna was going to make this year different. They were going to talk about it whether she liked it or not. She went to go knock on her sister's door. But when she got there she could hear a faint noise that almost sounded like crying. Anna slowly opened the door and saw her big sister on her bed crying. "Sis...are you alright?"

Elsa shot up and immediately started rubbing her eyes. "Yeah I'm fine", Elsa responded defensively. "What are you doing in here anyway? I didn't hear you knock!"

Anna paused at her sister's outburst. She was about to attack back with a retort but then remembered why she came in the first place and backed down. "I know I'm sorry, I just came to talk to you and I heard you through the door and...well I just wanted to check on you."

"Whatever. You said you wanted to talk well talk." Elsa said icily.

Anna tried her best not to match her sister's tone. If she was going to get her sister talk she had to calm down herself. Anna took a couple of deep breaths and began the speech she had prepared. "Elsa, I want to talk about mom. I know you don't like talking about the incident and I get that. But at least let me talk about it with you. You're the only one who truly understands, who knows what it's like. And you're my only connection back to mom and Elsa I miss her, I miss her do much and unless I talk about it I don't think this going to get better. So just let me talk to my best friend about it even if she doesn't want to respond back." By the end tears were streaming down Anna's face.

Elsa looked at her sister with concern. And then Elsa pulled her into a hug. "I'm sorry Anna. I'm so sorry, I've been so selfish. What was I even thinking? I miss her too, but I thought if I shut you out, shut everything out then it wouldn't hurt so much. I know I should've learned from when I tried it before but I guess old habits just die hard." By the end Elsa was crying too.

Anna went to embrace her sister and the two stayed in each other's arms for what seemed like an eternity. After their eyes finally dried the two cuddled each other in Elsa's bed while they reminisced over the memories they had with their mom. When the sun was about to rise the two sisters walked out to the castle's garden and picked a bouquet of flowers and went to set them on their mother's grave. "Happy mother's day, mom," the two sisters said in unison and walked away together hand in hand, each with a silent promise to help the other cope.
