Hospital Bed

It was a sunny day in Japan, kids were playing outside and people were walking in the park, everybody seems very happy, although, in a nearby hospital, the atmosphere was much grimmer.

A young teen with silvery gray hair and shining green eyes was sitting on a small chair; in the bed next to him laid an unconscious figure.

Green eyes never leaving the bandages covered figure, although all he could see was one closed eye, and messy, red hair, emphasized by the pure whiteness of the sheets and pillow.

The only sound in the room came from the heart monitor, besides it, nothing; you could never guess that there is even one single person, and definitely not three.

It was still silent until the third figure, an elderly man that was sitting on the other chair, the one in front of the tiny TV, finally spoke.

"Boris?" he asked, merely drawing the said boy's attention from the unconscious figure.

"Hai?" the teen eventually answered.

"You need some sleep and food, boy; you don't look so good" the chairman paused and then chuckled quietly, "in that way you'll be the one in the hospitalized instead of Yuriy"

The Russian teen suddenly turned his head, which surprised the elder.

Yuriy, his friend, hospitalized because of Balcov's new toy.

Again the silence, it lasted for some minutes until Daitenji stood from his chair and walked toward the door.

"Where are you going?" Boris asked, scowling a bit.

The elder turned to face Boris, smiled, and walked out of the room, leaving a confused, frowning Boris.

He turned again; staring at Yuriy, the sleeping youth looked so peaceful, that it was scary.

----------

It was at least a week until Yuriy showed some life signs, but Boris wasn't there.

Daitenji heard a groan and turned around.

He saw Yuriy's eyes opening slightly, and closing again, his face was less bandaged now.

The man stood next to the bed.

"Yuriy, can you hear me? It's Daitenji" the boy's mouth opened a little but only light coughs came out.

The elder quickly took a glass of water from the table and handed it to the Yuriy.

"Here, boy, drink this" he helped Yuriy to sit and gave him the glass.

The boy drank the water quietly and tried to speak again, his voice was hoarse.

"What, uh…"

"You were here for about a week, you remember why, right?"

Yuriy answered in a deadly cold voice.

"Garland"

Daitenji sighed.

"Unfortunately nothing had progressed with Balcov, it was quite a shock to see him again, no?"

"Hm" Yuriy turned his head toward the window.

"Have anyone came here?" he asked.

"Oh, yes, your teammates of course, Boris was here quite often, and-" he was interrupted by Yuriy.

"Boris?" Daitenji smiled softly.

"Oh, yes. I was a bit worried about him, didn't have much rest, the boy, I hope someone forced him to get some sleep, at least"

"Oh"

"So, how are you feeling now, boy?"

"Umm, tired" Yuriy answered.

"Well, of course, you need to get more sleep"

"What time it is, anyway?"

"Still morning, don't worry, I'm sure your teammates would be here soon, if that is what you worry about"

"No"

Daitenji just hummed in respond.
