The first few rays of sunlight seeped through the curtains, giving the room a nice golden, warm glow. Levi laid there with his eyes closed, but not awake. He was one to never sleep in, even when he'd stay up til' midnight doing very important stuff with Eren.
However, that wasn't the only reason. It was because there was someone else sleeping in bed with him. Levi had nicely demanded Eren to stay over to have some time together. In the end, Eren never went home. And because of this, he couldn't sleep. It wasn't because he always kicked him off the bed or hogged all the blankets. It was because of his general presence. The thought of having his beloved so close to him had Levi's heart beating a million miles per second.
Levi peeked through his dark eyelashes to see his other half and discovered that he was being watched. Eren had red dusting over his cheeks and a tiny smile decorated on his face. Levi was not used to seeing Eren with an expression like that.
He assumed that Eren thought he was still asleep, so he continued to secretly watch his every move. Eren tried his very best to look away from his face, but to no avail. He seemed drawn to his beauty.
'Ah, this is what he does whenever I'm caught off guard and dozing off,' Levi concluded. 'Well, he's in for a very big surprise.'
Eren was about to make another poor attempt to look away from his boyfriend when he saw that he had already opened his eyes, staring deep into his multi-colored ones. He was about to turn away from the man, but it was already too late.
"Good morning, you brat," Levi greeted as if nothing had happened.
"U-um... How long have you been awake?" Eren stuttered out, his face getting redder by the second.
Levi smirked, "Long enough to find out that a certain someone likes to stare at me whenever I sleep."
Eren turned away, embarrassed, "Pshh, I wasn't staring at you!"
"Yeah, right, Eren. So, tell me," Levi put on a teasing smirk, "what makes me so different when I'm sleeping?"
It seemed that Eren had muttered something under his breath, but Levi didn't catch it. "What was it, brat?"
Eren jumped in surprise and squeaked out, "Nothing! Forget I said anything!"
Levi sighed and realized he wasn't going to get an answer out of him. Instead, he just waited until his embarrassment was washed away with time.
Soon, he turned Eren over and placed a gentle kiss on his lips. When Eren relaxed into the kiss, Levi got bold and kissed him back fiercely.
As Levi's warm tongue entered his mouth, a picture of him popped up into Eren's head. Eren never fully understood why Levi treated him like crap during training, but kissed and hugged him so lovingly when they were alone, but when he saw his sleeping face, it didn't surprise him anymore.
