The Book
"Tasha?" Clint asked as he entered the room of his partner, Natasha Romanoff. "What are you doing here?" Natasha was sitting on her bed, reading a page of a book, before sighing frustratedly, and throwing the book at the wall.
"Stupid book," she muttered, apparently not hearing Clint. "I hate it."
"Then why did you read it?" Clint asked, amused. Natasha looked at Clint.
"Hey," she said.
"Hi," he replied, walking over and picking the book up. He looked at the title and barked out a laugh.
"Twilight?" he laughed. "Are you actually reading Twilight?" Natasha glared at him.
"Jane lent me her book, and I was curious about why Jane, Pepper, and Betty ALWAYS talk about it," she defended herself. Clint chuckled and sat down next to her on the bed.
"How bad is it?" he asked curiously. Natasha groaned and laid down.
"Terrible. I can only stand five sentences of that junk before I start puking," she complained then stood up.
"Where you going?" Clint asked, looking away from the book and at her.
"I'm going to take a shower, while you return that thing to Jane," she ordered while walking into the bathroom. As Natasha closed the door and Clint stared at the door, then at the book, then crept out of the door.
"Hey Natasha," Jane said, ambushing Natasha in the kitchen. "What do you think of Twilight?" Natasha raised an eyebrow. Hadn't she told Clint to give that stupid book back to Jane?
"I thought Clint gave it back to you," she said, frowning. Jane looked confused.
"Why would Clint have it? I gave it to you to read. Besides, only guys who are forced to or gay guys read Twilight," Jane said, folding her arms across her chest.
"Okay," Natasha sighed. "I'm going to tell you the absolute truth. I don't get Twilight. I think that it's a piece of crap that deserves to be in the trash can. And I'm never going to read it ever again." Jane shrugged.
"But that doesn't explain why Clint has it." Natasha just shrugged.
"I gave it to him to give it back to you," she said. "I wonder why he still has it?" The door opened and all of the Avenger boys, except Clint, ran in, laughing.
"Clint..." Tony gasped, clutching his stomach. He didn't finish his sentence before bursting into more laughter. "What about Clint?" Natasha asked, glaring at them. The men sobered up quickly.
"Ma'am," Steve Rogers, so far Natasha's favourite out of all the boys (excluding Clint), said, chuckling under his breath. "We found Clint reading...Twilight." The men burst into laughter again.
"Wait, Steve," Jane said, gasping for breath from laughing also. "You've read Twilight?" Steve reluctantly nodded.
"What did you think?" Natasha asked. Steve looked super serious for the moment.
"I hate it with my heart and soul." Natasha smiled a rare smile at Steve, which Steve returned, and Jane looked bummed out.
"I better go check on Clint," Natasha said, leaving the room and heading to Clint's. She saw that the door was wide open and stepped inside.
"Hey Clint?" she asked. Indeed the sight that was before her definitely shocked the fearless Black Widow. Her boyfriend, the amazing Hawkeye, was reading a page of Twilight intently.
"Wait a second, Tash. Edward's about to sparkle again," he said, raising a finger. With a sigh, Natasha left, closing the door.
