A blonde girl sat at the ledge of the roof to a highschool. Her eyes held no light and her face seemed neutral. She sat quietly watching the sunset, a small frown beginning to form. Tears brimmed at the corner of her beautiful brown eyes, her unbelievably golden hair flew around her frame. Sighing she looked up into the sky despair showing on her face. "Hey mom, will you forgive me for what I'm about to do? Papa has been really cruel lately, and I think the rest of the world hates me too." Tears fell quietly against her cheek falling freely off the ledge, "Did you know? Papa has caused some pains that I wish will go away but would never heal no matter what I do. Same goes for my classmates... I wish... I wish someone was here for me...I wish you were here." Standing up she faced the ledge looking down at the steep drop, her heart fluttering helplessly. "I hope you forgive me Mama." Humming a tune she looked back up at the sunset and began to sing.
I've got no strings
To hold me down
To make me fret
Or make me frown
I had strings
But now I'm free
There are no strings on me
Hi o the merio, that's
the only way to be!
I want the world to know
notin' ever worries me
I've got no strings so I have fun
I'm not tied up to anyone
They've got strings but
you can see...
A slam of a door behind her caught her attention making her turn around, her foot already near the ledge. A boy with pink hair ran towards her reaching his hands out towards her, screaming her name. A smile danced on her lips as she let her feet slip off the ledge giving a playful salute, the scream of the boys voice echoed across the land "LUCY!"
Tears came once more as she fell quickly, her hair flapping around wildly, but what stood out was her bright smile. A smile she has never been able to show in years. Her mouth parted as she said something, her voice consumed in the wind.
there are no strings on me...
