A/N: I've wanted to do a Wizard of Oz parody for a long time… but who to choose as our leading lady, Dorothy Gale? Well, I finally came up with this! Enjoy!
The Three People You Meet in Heaven
Glinda
Angel felt bad about leaving her friends, but glad to get out of that hell called a dying body. Her spirit felt free, freer than it ever had felt… she felt like dancing.
Instead, she just sort of drifted to another land. This land was more colorful, certainly, and there was just something different about it. For some odd reason, she had the feeling that somewhere between dying and here, wherever here was, she had taken a wrong turn. There were people all around her, hiding. Now, Angel was truly confused. She glanced around.
Out of seemingly nowhere, there was a swirl of leopard-print air ('AIR?!' Angel's mind screamed), and a smiling face was seen.
"Mimi!" Angel called, waving merrily at her friend.
Mimi looked puzzled. She wore a poofy powder-blue dress and a tiara perched on her curls. "My friends," she said, and the hiding people slowly came out, "we seem to have a new member in our support group today. Shall we go around and say our names?"
"Steve."
"Gordon."
"Ali"
"Pam."
"Sue."
They all looked expectantly at Angel, who was petrified. Why were all the Life Support people here? This was heaven, and Mimi wasn't dead. Neither were some of the others. "Hi," she said shakily. "I'm Angel." She stared down at her skirt, which was also not what she thought it would be. It was pale blue and plaid and… urgh. And what was up with her wig being braided? "Mimi, Chica, is this some sort of sick joke?"
Mimi ignored her. "I think we all need to thank Miss Angel for getting rid of the Wicked Wizard."
"What?!" Angel turned to her friend.
Mimi continued. "Thank her."
"Thank you, Angel," everyone chorused.
Angel felt nauseous.
"You have managed to get the Wicked Wizard, Paul…"
"PAUL?!"
"…out of our happy land and back where he belongs."
Angel sat down with her head in her hands. "Paul…" she moaned. "I'm so sorry…"
Mimi smiled. "Without you, he'd still be 'helping' these people, and then where would they be?"
"Maybe I'm not dead," she murmured. "It's just a fever dream… It's just a fever dream…"
"No, Angel. It's real. This is the in-between place. You aren't in either heaven, or hell…"
"Well, how do I get to heaven?"
"You don't." Mimi bowed her head.
"Well, then, I stay in Life Support for eternity?"
"Yes… unless…"
"Unless what?!"
"Unless the seraph of death will help you."
Cue everyone else "Ooh"ing simultaneously.
"The seraph of death? He doesn't sound pleasant…"
"She's the one in charge of all those stuck here. You could ask her, but it's a long journey. You'll need help."
"I'll be fine," Angel assured her friend.
"Even so…" Mimi leaned over and kissed the drag queen's forehead. "This is my mark," she said, pointing to the stain made by the lip-gloss. "It will protect you against the Wicked Wizard."
"But wait… I thought he was dead."
"There's another one. There are rumor's that he's the devil's son…"
"Oh, shit, what is this place?" she moaned, and she hung her head in sorrow. "How do I get to the Seraph of Death's place?"
"Follow the path lined with candles. It'll take you there in no time."
"Thanks, Mimi." Angel set off, with a final wave to her friend.
But just as she was about to go, a very familiar someone stopped her in her tracks…
Muah ha ha, cliffhanger! If you wanna guess my casting... I wouldn't mind... ;-)
