This was an idea I had after I found out Farfetch'd is one of the few pokemon admitted to be used as meat in the pokemon world. And they're rare for it. This is my intake how a Farfetch'd may react to this realization. It's not the most positive story, because it's not supposed to be. Enjoy.
Farfetch'd. That name always sent shivers down my spine. We were only so rare because we're hunted constantly, taken away from our homes.
When that painted sign with our species name is nailed up on a tree, that means it's a good time to hide out and hope they don't find you. Still, doesn't stop the trainers from capturing us, or other people who hunt us down and kill us. Those were the lucky ones, the poor souls.
The ones who were kept alive are taken to these big facilities that house many Farfetch'd. Some are kept to be bred constantly, to produce more Farfetch'd chicks to keep up with the demand of my species meat. Sometimes if there's not enough of us males, they'll use other pokemon, not even remotely related to our species, to keep the production line running smoothly. They had to take away a Seviper when they found out it killed the females are agressively breeding with them.
Sadly, our meat has gotten so popular lately that even trainers are selling their own Farfetch'd for a high profit, without even asking what will happen to them. We're not that strong for them to even training us, unless that lucky Farfetch'd is owned by a collector who cares for their pokemon; a rare chance to come by one of those.
When we die, they try to feed our remains to other Farfetch'd. Figure it may be cheaper feeding us our own kind, fatten us up while they're at it. But we're not stupid. None of us that are sane refuse to move an inch to touch the remains of our dead relatives and friends.
Few do actually devour the flesh of our kin. But most of the time it's because of the poke-virus ravaging their body and mind. Sometimes they're put down. Sometimes. If they chance it, they'll keep them alive to be processed for food later. What honor is this to be a rare pokemon?
Nothing. Just nightmares.
