Korra recently broke up with Mako. She found out that he was seeing her sister behind her back, he wouldn't tell her where he was going, and that he's been acting weird lately. She never found out why but she had enough of it. He left her heartbroken.
To get her mind off of Mako she agreed to go hang out with Tahno. They were sitting in the booth at Narook's Noodles when Tahno noticed something off about Korra.
"What's wrong uh-vatar?"
"I thought I told you to never call me that again. And nothing's wrong I'm fine."
Tahno wasn't buying it. "Come on, you've been acting gloomy throughout this date, there's gotta be something wrong."
Korra knows she's gonna have to tell him sooner or later so she just lets it out."I just broke up with Mako two days ago, I guess I'm still bummed about it."
Tahno was shocked that they broke up. Tahno believed they were so happily in love so clearly something Mako did went too far…that or the uh-vatar was just over-reacting.
The waitress arrived and handed them their noodles.
"Why would you two break up? I thought you guys were madly in love?"
"That's what I thought too! But I guess he felt different."
"What did he do?"
Korra doesn't feel like going into detail so she just gives him an overall answer about what happened between her and Mako.
"He's been secretly seeing my sister behind my back, he lies about where he goes, and he started acting weird."
Tahno takes all these things into consideration and comes up with an answer. To the normal eye it would seem that Mako was cheating but Tahno knows he's not like that, he knows what Mako's been doing.
"He's not cheating on you"
Korra's shocked that Tahno's siding with Mako on this. "And how would you know that?" her anger rising.
"He's gonna propose to you uh-vatar!"
"What?! But what about him seeing my sister behind my back?"
"He talks with your sister about that kind of stuff you are interested in."
"What about him not telling me where he goes?"
"He's obviously going ring shopping, and/or paying off the ring."
"But he's been acting strange."
"He's trying to figure out when the perfect time to ask you."
After thinking about Tahno's reasons, she decides to call Mako.
"imma call him."
"alright take your time, he'll have to explain to you."
Korra nods and makes her way outside to have a little chat with Mako.
Tahno just waits at the booth and finishes up his noodles.
After a few minutes Korra arrives at the booth all happy.
"How'd it go?"
"…I'm engaged!"
"Really? Congrats!"
"Yeah it's all thanks to you Tahno. Thank you."
Korra reaches up and kisses Tahno on the cheek. There is a slight tint on his face.
"It was no problem at all. I was glad to help."
Korra goes home to her fiancé and they have a nice little chat about their wedding
fin.
