A short sweet one-shot I thought of while listening to one of my favourite Hispanic lullabies. A La Nanita Nana means "Let's Sing a Little Lullaby" for the non-Spanish speakers. I won't post the Spanish lyrics, I'll do the English translation so you're not confused.
A La Nanita Nana

The child cooed as she looked up at her parents, golden eyes shifting between the two.
"She's restless Sesshomaru," Rin commented, gingerly poking the baby's pudgy tummy. "She won't sleep. This is the third time in the last week that she hasn't slept when we put her down. Do you think there might be something wrong?"
Big, brown, doe eyes looked up into the golden ones of her husband's that mirrored the small child that lay in the crib, gurgling as she kicked her feet, batting at them with her tiny hands.
"I'm sure it is nothing to be alarmed about, Rin," Sesshomaru said placing a large hand on her slender shoulder. "Perhaps, she simply does not wish to sleep."
"But…" Rin started again before Sesshomaru placed a finger to her lips.
"Maybe that lullaby you learned while on our trip to Mexico will help, hn?" Sesshomaru suggested, irking a silver brow at his small wife.
"A La Nanita Nana," Rin whispered, her fingers playing with her engagement and wedding rings that rested on her finger, a small smile finding its way across her lips, "Let's Sing a Little Lullaby."
"Hn," Sesshomaru nodded, gesturing for her to go ahead and gather the child. "I will leave you."
Rin shook her head, her small hand reaching out to grab the sleeve of his pajama shirt, "Please, stay with me and help me put her to sleep?"
"I do not know the words," Sesshomaru reminded her, "It was only you that learned the lullaby."
"You don't have to sing," Rin said smiling up at her much taller husband. "I'll sing. You just stay in here so that she has full view of you."
"Very well then," Sesshomaru said reaching over to pick the young girl up before passing her on to his wife, "I will stay."
Rin beamed as she settled the baby in her arms, kissing the apples of her cheeks before humming softly. "Come, let's sing a little lullaby, come, let's sing a little. My baby girl is sleepy, blessed be, blessed be. Come, let's sing a little lullaby, come, let's sing a little. My baby girl is sleepy, blessed be, blessed be."
The baby girl cooed, playing with the loose ends of her mother's hair as she continued to sing softly.
"Little spring running clear and loud. Nightingale that in the forest sings and weeps. Hush, while the cradle rocks."
There was a yawn as she stretched in her mother's arms before snuggling into her embrace.
"Come, let's sing a little lullaby. Come, let's sing a little lullaby. Come, let's sing a little. My baby girl is sleepy, blessed be, blessed be. Little spring running clear and loud Nightingale that in the forest sings and weeps."
Slowly her eyes drifted closed, another yawn escaping before she was sound asleep.
"Hush, while the cradle rocks. Come, let's sing a little lullaby," Rin finished before kissing the baby's forehead and placing her in the crib again.
After pulling the blanket over her shoulders, Rin reached over, brushing the silver hair from her baby girl's face before smiling.
"Sleep tight, Asami," Rin whispered as she felt Sesshomaru place a hand on her shoulder.
"Come," he spoke quietly, leading the woman out of the room, "Let's allow her to sleep."
"Yes," Rin whispered before following him out of the room, closing the door behind them.
See, short, sweet, done. The version I used of this song, is a bit different from the original. A La Nanita Nana was originally a Christmas carol that has since been adopted as a lullaby in the Hispanic world. Hopefully you enjoyed.
