AN: I need to get past some writer's block, can I play too?
SUMMARY: Set after the crash in Devil's Trap, Sam feels the guilty for all the events around him. Will it be too much for him? ANGST, HURT, and possibly LIMP abound. All the chapters will be based off of the drabble challenge word of the week.
DISCLAIMER: I will find out on Christmas whether I've been good (or bad) enough to attract the attention of the Winchesters.
RAW:
The world was spinning.
A cabin. The Demon. Dean... The crash. Helicopters. And now Sam was in a hospital room trying to piece together every event in order.
"Mr. McGilicutty... Mr. McGilicutty?" A nurse was trying to get his attention while he momentarily forgot his new name.
"Uh... yeah?" Sam winced as he looked up. His whole body felt raw from the time the demon started to beat him and the crash only made him feel worse but he refused to be admitted until he knew how Dean and his father were doing.
"The doctor will see you now if you follow me."
"Right." Sam followed the nurse into the doctor's office and all but collapsed into the chair.
"How are they doctor?"
"Well, we've managed to remove the bullet from your father's leg. He suffered a concussion from the crash as well as a broken arm."
"So he'll be ok?"
"Yes, with rest he should make a full recovery. Your father is very lucky."
"And Dean?"
The doctor let out a heavy sigh.
Sam swallowed. This was too much like when Dean was electrocuted. This couldn't be happening again.
"I can't say he was as lucky..."
"No..."
"Your brother came in with major blood loss and some internal bleeding. You said your family was jumped outside of a bar?"
"Yes. Dean won a few hands at poker..."
"I see... We were able to give your brother blood and repair the bleeding which I'm guessing is from the fight."
"Yeah."
"Unfortunately the crash gave him some major injuries including head trauma."
"He'll be ok right?" Sam already knew the answer.
"We won't know until he wakes up." The doctor paused. "If he wakes up."
"No..." Tears stung at Sam's eyes.
"I'm sorry... A nurse will show you to your father and brother's rooms after we've taken care of you."
"No, just take me to Dean." This was all Sam's fault. He was driving, he didn't keep his family safe and now Dean and his Dad were in the hospital.
"But sir... You obviously need medical attention. You were just in a serious--"
"Just take me." Sam stood firm although he felt raw emotionally and physically.
"Very well. Right this way."
AN: There you are. Chapter one. Love it? Hate it?
