The first time Sabaku no Gaara saw Fuyusuisha Arashi, he remembered that there was one feature about her that stood out the most, that captured his attention, even if it was briefly and suddenly. It was her eyes, or rather, her eye. Her right eye was covered by an eyepatch and they could only see her left eye, much like her twin. No one knew exactly why the identical siblings covered their eyes and no one bothered to.
Her left eye was the colour of the fallen leaves in autumn, the colour of the refined yellow sapphire gem. It was strangely carefully guarded and piercing, making people avoid to making direct contact with her eye. It was filled with a strange kind of playfulness, as if laughing and playing with something she only knew.
Gaara had been enchanted by its strange colour and emotions for a few seconds before he dismissed it passively. There were other people who had far more bizarre eye colours and more attention-catching than hers. She was not of his concern and he did not see the need to busy himself with such petty matters.
She was just a strange person who would quickly disappear as soon as she appeared into his life, he was sure of it.
Apparently, she was also a bit of a trouble-magnet and he tended to avoid those kind of people because they could only wreck destruction and havoc wherever they go.

The first time Fuyusuisha Arashi saw Sabaku no Gaara, there was something he had that made her a bit stunned and intrigued as she observed everyone who she didn't recognize with her sharp left eye. It was his eyes, his black-rimmed eyes. His eyes were surrounded by pools of black and she thought it was unique but strange. No one really knew why his eyes were decorated with black and no one had dared to ask.
His eye colour was also unique. It was a light turquoise, seemingly changing from being green to blue and blue to green every time she glanced at it. It was filled with with authority and power, penetrating through everyone who had enough courage to make eye-contact with him. It was also carefully blank and veiled any emotions he showed.
Arashi was struck speechless by the uniqueness and the power it held in them before she shrugged it off easily. She had seen stranger things and eyes that practically demanded respect from one glance. He was unique but then again, everyone had their own individual quirks and appearance that made then different than others.
He was only a stranger that she didn't see the need to obsess over with, unlike those strange girls who fawned over him.
And besides, he was a figure of authority and she didn't like figures of authority. They only liked to order her around and punish her for not abiding by the rules.
