Dance Lesson

I do not own Meine Liebe or its characters, they belong to Yuki Kaori-san. If I did own it, then I'd have Ed and Naoji fall in love with each other.

"Hey, Nao?"

Naoji turned to his lover who was lying on the grass beside him. "What is it, Ed?"

"I was just thinking...you've become very accustomed to the dances we have to learn here."

"Ah, I learned from an early age. I used to dance with my dear grandmother when I visited her and grandfather."

"I see. Well, I was wondering..."

Naoji waited patiently for Eduard to voice his thoughts.

"How different are the dances here to the dances back in Japan?"

"It depends on how one looks at it, I suppose, however, in my opinion, they differ quite a lot. For example, the music one dances to. If you tried to play the music one dances to the waltz whilst dancing a traditional Japanese dance, it would not work out."

Eduard sat up suddenly. "Can you show me an example?"

"I'm afraid it's hard when one doesn't have the right music."

"Even if I played something for you to dance to?"

"Afraid so. Hold on, maybe I can teach you a dance. It's very simple. It's a bon dance."

"Bon dance?"

"During a festival, people dance around a large bon fire. It really is a simple dance as even children join in."

"What's it like?"

"As you step, you move your arms, keeping to the beat and flow of the music." He sat up and got to his feet. He then offered to help Eduard up.

"Are you sure it's simple?" Eduard questioned as he took hold of Naoji's hand and allowed himself to be pulled to his feet.

"I promise, it is very simple."

Orpherus, Ludwig and Camus were searching for their friends when they heard a gentle voice sing in a foreign language. They knew right away the voice belonged to Naoji.

Ludwig was the first to arrive at the scene and was surprised by what he saw. Those movements...they are different, yet no less graceful, he thought to himself as he heard Camus and Orpherus approach him.

"What is going on, Lui?" Camus asked of his cousin.

"It looks like Ed and Naoji are dancing," Orpherus remarked in a hushed tone, as if afraid his voice would halt the scene before them.

Naoji finished singing and the dance ended. Eduard turned to Naoji. "That really was simple."

"You did very well, Ed," Naoji whispered as he stepped closer to the redhead. "And here is your reward." Unknowing of their witnesses, Naoji leaned in and gave Eduard a gentle kiss on the lips. He felt it being reciprocated immediately.

Camus started to blush lightly, though he wasn't unfamiliar with his friends kissing each other.

The kiss ended, and both young men held each other close in a loving embrace. "Can you teach me more dances?" Eduard whispered.

"In due time, Ed, in due time," Naoji replied just as softly.
