"Lupin, Ted."

Teddy eagerly surged out of the group of remaining first years, heading to the old, three-legged stool, upon which sat an old, frayed hat. Half-way there, he stumbled, but managed to catch himself before completely losing his footing. In the back of his mind he noted that a few of the older students laughed, but he didn't really care. He was about to be sorted! Teddy excitedly changed his hair from its natural sandy brown to his favourite colour, turquoise, and sat on the stool. Uncle Neville -Professor Longbottom, Teddy corrected himself mentally- gave him a small smile before placing the hat on his head.

"Ahh, I've heard much about you, young Mr. Lupin," Teddy heard as the hat slipped down over his eyes. "You would do well in Ravenclaw, much like your father could have, but as with him I can tell that's not right" Teddy grinned, proud that he was like his father. "As much like your mother as you are, Hufflepuff is not the place for you. It'll have to be… GRYFFINDOR!" The hat called out to the entire school.

Teddy leapt off the seat, all but ripped the Sorting Hat off his head, and ran to the Gryffindor table, only tripping once on the way there. Once seated, he scanned the Head table. Hagrid, dominating one end, was banging one of his gigantic hands on the table; the other held his tablecloth-sized handkerchief, using it to dab his watery eyes. Further down, he caught Professor McGonagall's eye, and received a small smile and a wink. Teddy cheerfully waved in response. Looking back to the sorting, he noticed Professor Longbottom calling out the next student's name with a big grin on his face.

'This is gonna be great.' Teddy thought. 'I believe Uncle Harry now. It's gonna be the best seven years of my life.'
