Three words. The first three words Max had ever said to Caroline were 'don't get attached'.

But, here she was now, about three years from that day they met, lying on her Murphy bed in the middle of Max's apartment, pretending to be asleep but actually watching her bake the cupcakes. As creepy as that sounded, it wasn't actually that bad. Her eyes were opened, but Max was simply too focused to even notice that Caroline was watching her.

Thinking back on those three words, Caroline had no intention of getting close to Max. She had told herself that, despite having nothing, she would not become one of the poor people she despised of. But, that decision was hard to stick to.

Caroline couldn't help but say it.

"Max?"

Max's head shot up, focusing on the blonde.

"Did I wake you up or something?" She asked. Caroline shook her head.

"I think I got attached."
