Chapter One
Two teens were getting ready for battle. They were getting ready for a game filled with fighting, strategy, and lots of weapons. It's called "Capture the Flag". This game is nothing like the mortal game with a football. This was played by all the demigods in Camp Sanctuary. And it was these teens favorite game of all.
Anastasia and her younger brother Alexander were demigods at the camp, which means half god- half human. Everyone at the camp were demigods. Their mother was Athena, goddess of wisdom and knowledge. Their father was Daniel Stephens. The teen's mother left them when Anastasia was 3 years old and Alexander was 1 year old. Athena was forced to go back to her home on Mount Olympus. The father was crushed, but he understood.
Daniel tried his best to take care of the two children as best as he could. But it was getting to be too much for him to handle. When Anastasia was 7 years old he put both of them up for adoption. They were then split up when two different families adopted them. Anastasia had the worse family. She was adopted by an abusive man and his three older kids. Anastasia went through physical and emotional abuse everyday by her adoptive father, her older siblings, and bullies at school. She quickly learned how to street fight quickly. She lived there in the ghetto with her adoptive family for 10 years. When she was 17 she walked out the front door one night and never went back.
She did not know where to go. While she was walking she heard a women's voice giving her directions. She followed them which lead her to the camp. She had been walking for two days to get there. When she got to the gate she fell down and blacked out. When she woke up a few days later they told her where she was, what happened, and what she was. She at first did not believe it one bit. But then when they gave her the sword that her mother left for her, she believed them. She has been there ever since.
Alexander has a different story. He was adopted by a loving military family with two older siblings. He learned how to fight by rough housing with his two older siblings and the bullies at his school that made fun of him. When he turned 15 years old his father Daniel kidnapped him and took him to Camp Sanctuary saying that he was taking him to safety and to his sister. He also told him that he was his real father but that he would not be able to go with him. When they arrived to the camp, the camp leader explained to him the general information and brought him to Anastasia. They were finally reunited. They were so happy.
While the two were getting ready for their game, they heard a horn go off. That was the signal for someone new arriving to the camp. They looked at the gate and saw someone standing there looking confused. He had brown hair and wore a black trench coat. They ran towards the gate, racing one another. They laughed the whole way there, having fun together.
