Olivia woke up early on the morning of her birthday. She always loved her birthdays. It just seemed to make her happy. Even as a wife and mother she
still loved her birthday more than most adults did. She had no idea just how special this birthday would be.
She woke up to the smell of blueberry pancakes. Justine, her fifteen year old daughter was cooking. She smiled dressed herself and came downstairs.
"Happy birthday mom," Justine said.
"Thank you sweetheart," Olivia replied hugging her daughter who put a plate of food in front of her.
"I can't wait for you to see your birthday gift," Justine said excitedly, "You're so going to love it this year."
"Honey anything you get me I'll love," Olivia said.
Justine laughed.
"This isn't exactly a thing," she replied.
"Did you get a dog," Olivia asked trying to sound serious but there was a smile on her face.
"This is better than a dog," Justine said, "It's the one gift that you… that all of us want more than anything else."
Try as she might Olivia couldn't figure that out. She didn't have to wait long though. The doorbell rang.
"That's for you mom," Justine said.
Olivia got up and answered the door. Her eyes grew wide. She couldn't believe what she was seeing. This had to be a dream. She felt like she was going to cry tears of absolute joy. She had to stop and catch her breath before she passed out.
It was Jordan.
"Happy birthday mom," he whispered.
Happy didn't even begin to describe how she felt. To refer to her feelings as happy was the understatement of the millennium. She had thousands of questions but right now she didn't even care about the answers.
