I stood in front of Freddy's, my hand stretched out for the door. Something was holding me back, though. You're just gonna screw it up, I thought to myself. You always screw it up. I turned to leave, but stopped. I had to think about this.

But, I really need the money... I realized. Knowing this, I looked back at the building. It taunted me, daring me to enter. It almost felt like a challenge. A burst of confidence flowed through me. I turned back around, grabbed the door handle, swung the door open, and entered Freddy's for my new job as a security guard.

I wasn't entirely sure why I came back to that place. It had been almost twenty years since I last returned there. Was it the sentimental value I had for this place? Was it that it held a special place in my heart? Or was it the fact that I needed money to pay off the rent I owed my landlord, and this was the one place I could go to that I was familiar with? I wasn't really sure. But I knew that I was taking a job there.

A man saw me walk in. He got up from the table he was sitting at, and walked over to me. "Welcome to Freddy's! I'm the manager here." He stuck out his hand. I shook it voluntarily. "You can call me Mr. Fazbear." He said. "You must be Sean."

"Yep, that'd be me." I said. I looked around. "This place sure has changed a bunch ever since I last came here." I marveled.

"You've been here before?" The manager asked me.

"Yeah. I used to come here a ton of times as a kid. Haven't been back in almost twenty years, though. So it's kinda nice to be back." I smiled.

"That's great to hear! Glad to have someone we can trust taking care of our restaurant." The manager smiled back. "Follow me, I'll show you to your office."

"Alright," I agreed. I followed him around the place, memories flooding me. I remembered everything from when I was a kid, exactly what this place was like. It was amazing, the sentimental feelings that I had.

At one point, we reached the stage. Three animatronics stood up on the stage. One of them was a yellow chicken that was missing its beak, with intense purple eyes. One of the others was a big, brown bear with large blue eyes. The last one was a blue rabbit with soft, green eyes. The rabbit seemed to be only looking at me, nothing else. I could've sworn I saw his mouth gaping a little bit, too. The manager pointed at them. "Remember them?" He asked me.

"Uh, yeah, I think so. Let's see... the chicken's name is Chi-Chi, I think...the bear is obviously Fred, and the last one...Bon-Bon, I'm pretty sure. Am I right?" I asked the manager. The blue rabbit continued to gape at me.

"Yep! You got it!" The manager smiled, as if glad that I had remembered. I looked back at the three of them. The blue rabbit continued to stare at me, while the other two looked away. It was almost creepy.

The manager led me down a hallway and into an office with no doors. A small desk sat against the back wall, an office chair in front of it. A small, battery powered flashlight sat on top of the desk, along with a corded telephone and a tablet. Many posters were tacked onto the walls, displaying the four different animatronics. Two air vents came from either wall.

I was mostly curious about the tablet. "What's the tablet for?" I asked the manager. His face turned very serious at the question.

"Listen, Sean," He said. "There's a lot I need to explain to you. There's a lot about this place that you might not know. Many strange, dark mysteries exist here. A lot of them would scare you. But, before I tell you, I just want to warn you that...well, it's pretty scary." He looked at me with tense eyes. They were almost filled with sorrow.

"Oh, it's alright. I'm pretty sure I can handle it." I said with a cocky expression. I'm usually a pretty hard guy to scare.

"Alright, if you say so." The manager sighed. And so, the manager explained to me about the limited power. Then, he told me all about how the animatronics have a 'Night Mode'. He explained what they do at night, and about where they go at night. I shuddered slightly, but tried my best to conceal it so that the manager didn't think I was scared. But then, the manager explained what the animatronics do to PEOPLE at night.

"Y-You mean to tell me that those goddamn animatronics want to kill me?" I asked, appalled. "You mean I'm gonna die if I stay here?!"

"No! That's not the case at all!" The manager stopped me. "Please, don't think like that about this place! It isn't all that bad. You just...have to play it smart."

"I'M NOT GONNA RISK MY LIFE AT SOME STUPID JOB!" I yelled. The manager looked down at the floor.

"I get it. It's alright. Thought you would be the right person for the job, but we can find another...hopefully." The manager sighed. I looked down at the floor, out to the hall, then back at him.

"I-I'll do it." He looked up at me. He grinned from ear to ear. "I'll take the job."

"That's fantastic!" He cheered. "Thank you so much!" He jumped up and shook my hand firmly. I smiled at his reaction.

But, I still had to deal with the rest of the night.
