Chapter 1
One night Lorelai is working around the hospital one cold winter night on her usual nightly shift and is at the front desk doing some paperwork on her clipboard when another nurse comes up behind her and places her hand on the back of Lorelai;s shoulder.
Lorelai looks "hey Christy." Lorelai says and smiles
"hey there's somebody to see you in exam room 3." Christy tells her
"okay great thanks I'll go over there in a sec." Lorelai tells her finishing up the paperwork she's working so hardly on then picks up her clipboard and goes to the exam room
"hey." Luke says
Lorelai gasps "oh my god Hi Hon hey sweetie what are you guys doing here?" Lorelai asks them excitedly
"we were just were in the area having dinner and we though we would just come to see you." Luke tells her
"awe you had a daddy daughter date night." Lorelai says rubbing Rory's knee
"yeah!" Rory says excitedly
"how's your cold sweetie?" Lorelai asks her feeling her forehead and takes her temperture and checks the ear temp thing
"99.2 you're kind of hot sweetie but not bad." Lorelai says
"so where did you guys end up going for dinner and what did you have?" Lorelai wonders
"Charlie's pizza and I had a pepperoni and mushroom pizza and she had a cheese pizza and we still have some left over in the truck if you want it for later I can run out and get it for you want it." he tells her
"okay sounds good I can put it in my fridge in my office for later." she tells him
"are you coming home late tonight?" he wonders
"yeah probably but not really sure I finished all my paperwork so I may get off a little earlier." she tells him
"okay." he says
"I don't have to work until friday now though." she tells him
"oh that's good." he says
"yeah, it will be good to catch up on my sleep." she says
"that's good." he says and smiles
"yeah." she says and checks her pager
"you need to go?" he wonders
"um yeah." she tells him
"okay." he says
"okay, make sure she gets some sleep and lots of fluids tonight please." she tells him
"okay, I will." he tells her
"okay." she says
"we'll see you tomorrow." he tells her
"okay g-night guys; I love you both." she tells them and kisses them both as she watches them walk out of her office and start heading down the hall
"feel better sweetie!" she calls out to Rory down the hall and watches them leave the area then goes up to the trauma unit
