"I suppose he even knows you were holding his hand"
Christine glanced at the body laying to her right, before turning to face M'Benga, the shadow of a smile hinted upon her lips.
"Good – I would be disappointed to think that my efforts had gone unnoticed"
"Oh…I thought you wouldn't have wanted him to know" words stumbled from his mouth, his attempt to embarrass the nurse having failed.
"I want all my patients to know that I care Doctor, surely you would wish the same"
"Yes of course of I do", M'Benga began rearranging equipment on the desk, avoiding her eyes. Christine, satisfied that she had made her counterpart feel uncomfortable, left the room, turned and promptly leant against the wall. She hadn't expected the doctor in enter when he had, and she certainly had not wanted him to see her holding Spock's hand, but she was would be damned if she would allow him to pass judgment her.
Christine straightened, inhaled deeply and casually strode into McCoy's office to complete outstanding reports. A glance back towards the patient caused a smug grin to evolve as she observed M'Benga tentatively grasping Spock's hand.
